I can somewhat understand rotating content out due to the engine/the size of the game but these cuts seem dramatic. I'm glad I've never gotten deep into destiny, I think it'd frustrate me all these direction and design changes.
I'm still mad I bought this piece of shit at launch, never giving bungie money again
Henry Moore
The game is "too big to patch" because Bungie can't compress for shit.
Noah Reed
Literally nothing on this list will be missed.
Hunter Howard
So... First they are desperate and make the game free to play and now, they are cutting out everything so they can reintroduce them for those who pay for the game again. What the fuck is wrong with Bungie? They are really fucking stupid. I understand file size concerns and all but when Modern Warfare 2019 is pushing 200+ gigs... I'm happy I don't play Destiny 2 for that matter. It can go and die for all I care.
Alexander Cooper
How are they justifying everyone paying for expansions and then cutting them?
Dominic Gonzalez
They're literally removing the ENTIRE game pre-Forsaken. Like, this is pretty much everything in the whole game between release and September 2018.
Chase Flores
>Literally nothing on this list will be missed. This. And you guys always complain about games being too big. Finally a developer does something about it and yet you complain. Yeah yeah, i know Zig Forums isn't one person
Aiden Morales
Cut down on filesize Takes forever to compile changes/patches so response time is slower Combining all of d1 and d2 stuff into one big pool they'll be rotating things in and out of A lot of that stuff no one plays almost ever A little bit of balance
It's still bullshit but I get it. None of it is gone for good and mercury can eat a fat dick. If they dont deliver on the positives of this then it's gonna die very hard and they'll deserve it.
Ethan Jenkins
THey want to kill the game. I cant think of other reason for doing that retarded shit.
Jason Wright
they dont need to because the ones who are still willing to play this shit are retarded to begin with
Jack Taylor
Everything about this pisses me off down to the name "Destiny Content Vault". You know Luke Smith and whatever diversity hire came up with this name think it's cute to draw comparisons to the old Disney vault which many people hated and was meant to push people to buy things due to FOMO, a common practice they push now
Because debugging and keeping old content stable is hard.
Owen Price
Who is the vendor on the cosmodrome? It's going to be Uldren isn't it?
Nicholas Hill
>Reckoning CUT not good
Oliver Jenkins
>The game is "too big to patch" because Bungie can't compress for shit. Whats Squaresoft doing that Bungie can't with FF 14? Hell Activision releases monthly COD patches that are 40 gigs. Why are they so special?
Do AAA devs really justify the excuse of "it's too hard"? Maybe they hire more programmers and less PR and HR employees
Mason Baker
>A casual internet search tells me Destiny 2 is three times larger than FF14 Because they suck at compression retard thats the point
Camden Garcia
If I ever have to see Ana "Mary Sue" Bray ever again it'll be too soon. I can't stand her. I hope the hive kill her.
Lincoln Martin
Isn't he dead?
Nicholas Gomez
If reckoning had a better/more reliable way to target gear, like menagerie or the umbral engrams it'd much more enjoyable.
Tyler Davis
I am a dev, not a game dev but a dev on financial software if I ever suggested a fix at the cost of performance or taking shit out that people use I would be fired. This is why I have no pity when I hear about crunch from these retards
Julian Butler
so this is basically everything you got F2P when it came to steam whats going to be left to do for a free player?
Maybe they'll make forsaken f2p and insult the very idea of buying expacs on release
Jason Gomez
The way they explained it is the game is getting big enough that just compiling it to test patches and updates takes so long that it's slowing down their capacity to work on the game in a way that more programmers wont help. If every change requires 8 hours of compiling, usually multiple times, it takes fucking ages just to fix bugs and do simple balance patches.
Kayden Allen
>Because they suck at compression retard thats the point "just compress bro" I have zero doubt they would if they could.
Aiden Rogers
>pay $60 for Destiny 2 base game >poof, there goes that!
>pay another $50 for Curse of Osiris and Warmind expansions >poof, a distant memory!
>pay for season passes and grind them for gear >poof, gear is now sunsetted and level-limited!
