pick a game and play it

Though the Japanese switch version (many dlc songs remain exclusive) and drums.

beat thos drums bro

Got a chance to play the arcade version in Japan. With all the updates and song dlc, the switch version is almost identical to the arcade version.

new drums are hard to buy.
user drums wont register inputs properly.
just dont bother.

Does the new game come with drums? I don't understand these US releases, there's games but there's no drums

it's not fun without a drum and the drums are hella expensive

> haven't had downstairs neighbors in my apartment for a year
> get the drums
> a week later get downstairs neighbors that got arrested every other week

Goddamit.

Purchase a game and play it
If you're on the Switch version a pair of smart phone styluses work well as drumsticks on the touch screen.
If you want the best experience at home though you'll want to buy a drum.

I played this in a Yakuza mini game

accept playing with buttons. don't chase the taiko controller dragon unless you have a local arcade cab to play on and want to practice for it at home. switch also has motion controls but they're completely worthless, i can't believe how many retards thought they wouldn't be and even bought the game because of it.
pirate the newest game and DLC that you're able to. don't even try emulating them except maybe the wii games because PPSSPP and PCSX2 have insufferable latency.
portable DX and 3DS 2 have a lot of good content if you can pirate them with all their DLC. you can't go wrong with most of the games except the really early PS2 games that are barebones arcade ports.
don't call oni "extreme" or i'll disembowel you.

>accept playing with buttons
Imagine playing a game about drumming with button presses
At least on the Switch version you can drum on the touch screen

Just drum bro.

Counterpoint: The PSP version of Taiko was one of the hottest selling installments in the series. Taiko is 95% about rhythm, recognizing patterns and playing well. The input method is largely irrelevant.

I built a custom controller for Taiko. I tried playing it like drums but I can't stop playing it like a button game. Instead of drumming I'm trying to press parts of the drum with precision and it feels fucking retarded and awkward.

Drumming = soul
Buttons = soulless

download tjaplayer3 and a beatpack

if you want soul just go play just dance on xbox 360 kinect

buy a japanese console and the game. use some translation program if you dont get what's going on the screen.

never cared much about this series but I AM intrigued by one where you recruit monsters

What the hell is with the lack of excitement for the 3DS games coming out in English?

I mean it's pretty niche

It's a shame those without a soul cannot recognize soul in vidya

Huh? When did they announce this?

I'm excited, I have a drum coming in the mail next month so it's good timing

>accept playing with buttons. don't chase the taiko controller dragon unless you have a local arcade cab to play on and want to practice for it at home.
Why? The drum controller I got with the game works perfectly fine for a home setup.
Playing it with buttons kind of defeats the entire purpose almost. It'd be such waste. You might as well play Osu or something then instead.

Today, in the mini Direct

Retards making bad purchasing decisions based on hype or trends doesn't justify a shitty, unfun way to play a game built on a very specific input method.
Touch screen drumming is garbage too, don't @ me.
> don't chase the taiko controller dragon
If you just want to get one for switch they aren't even that expensive. Pretty cheap as far as specialty controllers go. Next you're going to tell me to not use stick for fighters.

>blatant okama villain
based, surprised Nintendo showed this in a direct

which drums did you get? I was thinking about ordering some custom drums

It won an award in 2018's vidya gaem awards, so some people here like it.

You're talking to the guy who own 3 tatacons. Drums are fun, but it's really not an enormous jump from playing with face buttons. You sound like you don't enjoy rhythm games for the rhythm aspect and just want to play easy songs with a wacky input method.

I bet you play stepmania with a keyboard

If I want to play a rhythm game without drums I'll play something else. taiko on buttons is boring as shit. It sounds like you're just easy to please.

Just put a piece of cardboard inside the tatacon.

I just got the standard Hori set.

If you want arcade quality though you gotta get something like this badboy:
