I Just started replaying Super Metroid.

I want to play prime 2 but I'm not sure if I should play the original or through prime trilogy with dolphin

I was actually playing last night. I was attempting to get that first energy tank in the ceiling that speedrunners can get. Couldn't do it.

You can't go wrong with either of them, but original trilogy has hardet boost ball guardian.

I'm going through Super, I don't remember where I left last night but I already have bombs, super/regular missiles and the charge shot.
I also tried Metroid mOTHER (improvements romhack of NEStroid) and it's pretty nice.

I beat Samus Returns 3D, i liked AM2R more but it was still an alright game.

I was just replaying Prime 2 earlier today, still only at the beginning though

Best one to play on Switch seeing how Prime 4 is never going to be released?

Super, unless you have it hacked for emulators.

I played super metroid and metroid not long ago, super metroid was a little disappointing going from all the Best Game Ever praise while metroid was just shit

Check out Primehack
It's a fork of Dolphin that adds KB/M support, FoV, ect. to Trilogy

Anyone got a link for the prime trilogy iso?

unironically all of them except THAT

I basically replay most of the entire series every year. It's my favorite series. Last thing I played was Zero Mission on my GB micro.

Check Vimm's Lair. Download speed is slow but it's reliable

Planning to play Metroid II then AM2R, then the Prime series

I've been playing the whole series with my brother who's never played a Metroid game before. We're at Prime 2 now and he's having a lot of fun.
I accidentally lead him to believe that Kraid was in Prime 1, and I kind of feel bad after showing him the concept art because that was his favorite boss.

I really appreciate how different every Metroid Prime feels from one another.
>Tallon IV is a barren planet with evidence of Chozo presence and some space pirate outposts, a la Metroid 1/Zero Mission and Super. Pirates are a threat the same way Mario fights Bowser or Link fights Ganon--they're the classic antagonists.
>Aether introduces a completely new precursor race in the Luminoth, with the twist being tha their apparent destruction happened recently and the rest are in stasis/hiding with a chance of the race to thrive if Samus saves them. The enemy race this time around is a much different type of alien than the space pirates, being interdimensional beings of darkness that aren't even necessarily linked to Phazon. The actual space pirate presence is kept to a minimum and is as close to comic relief as you can be with their logs.
>Prime 3 has a lot more Federation presence than either game, has a multitude of planets to explore each with their own stories and downfalls, and shows the pirates as a legitimate threat for once instead of 'those guys who are causing trouble so Samus can kick their ass,' mostly thanks to the involvement of Dark Samus and her taking over Phaaze.

I've played all good Metroids.
I don't feel like playing Metroid 1 and 2 or Other M. Metroid is my favorite franchise. I wish there was more of it.

I suppose I meant more barren in a societal sense now that the Chozo ascended. There's no one there and the leviathan was slowly eating away at the planet anyway.

if you want to play nes metroid try the mOTHER hack, as for Metroid II, there's a colorization romhack that has some small improvements too.

I’ve enjoyed playing through all the 2D games but struggle to maintain interest when playing Prime series.
