Nah, I played it just a few months ago. It's actually a great game with surprising replayability via multiple level paths and nice attention to detail to prevent accidentally killing yourself, like the barriers that keep you from spindashing off platforms on Sky Deck. It's a very well thought out game and an excellent transition of Sonic and friends into 3D.
Hell, the worst part of the game and only really bad part by virtue of being mandatory for full story completion (Big's fishing sidestory) is honestly on par with Ocarina of Time's fishing minigame and is surprisingly competent mechanically, albeit still not good enough to be worth locking the true ending behind.
