Vikings peaked with Ragnars last season, then you have Skald and Wadruna, also 2-3 years ago. God of War, sure, but thats it. And thats already on the viking mythology decline. LAst year was the norse myth high school show on Netflix, which was pretty niche. Marvels Thor mightve doen somwthing but is very removed from actual norse myth. American Gods also counts, but its shit.
So why the fuck do norse shit at all. They shouldve done FUTURE shit. OR First Civilization shit.
Now Hellblade is a/a good example on how to do it right. In this case its picts, not northmen, which gives it a really interesting spin. Oh, and also the very VERY good Vinland Saga. But out of them ALL, this one is a rare gem. All in all, vikings are done.

Yeah I agree that the viking hype is done overall, but vikings were always a popular option for AC regardless of it being "in" or not so I guess they just banked on that and it seems to be working. This is probably the last "big" viking thing anyway.
