Low end PC owners, how are you holding up in games lately?

Low end PC owners, how are you holding up in games lately?
>1060
>Can't even play any new games without turning settings down to low and even then its a fucking struggle to get decent framerates around 45-55 maybe even 60 when it feels like it

IDK what you're talking about
The only new game to come out that has run like shit on my 10606GB was RDR2

My rig was pretty decent 5 years ago, so I guess I count.
>Old R9 390
>only game I had trouble running was Metro Exodus at high settings
>going to upgrade later this year anyway
It's okay I guess.

what cpu do you have? I have a i5 6500, and i'm still running ddr3 ram

>1060
>low end
What the fuck are you talking about? did you fell for the 4k meme? did you buy a pentium or something?

Ryzen 5 3600 + 16GB DDR4 3200

Wtf are you talking about you retard. 1060 is still a decent card

Does it stutter like crazy?

i have a 1070 nvida with i7 processor and i can run gta5, and warzone on high just fine
havent tried rdr2 cause im to cheap to buy it

How much RAM do you have? I only have 8GB and that's whats limiting my pc. I have a 1060 Ti. Could be a RAM issue or you just have a real shitty processor.
My pc is 9 years old though and I'm not upgrading it because it can only use DDR3.

how is 1060 not low end? can't even run Cyberpunk

Huh? That games not even out...

2070 Super its rough bros

Do you have a proper 1060 or the shitty 3gb one that ins't really a 1060?

For today's standard, yes it is a Low end card. And when the newer cards come out it's going to shoot even lower.
Not really
16gb ddr3 ram its just super old
I have the 6gb version. But even then In new games I have to turn settings way down just to get semi stable frames that get close to 60. In older games it does okay though and in less demanding games it does better. I just think at this point its definitely time for an upgrade

Dunno about your 1060 but mine does a terrific job while I wait for the new cards to hit the market.

1060 with 6 GB VRAM,
Ryzen 2700x
16 GB RAM

I even play VR with that setup and there I do have to tone down the graphics and mostly live with 45 fps instead of the targeted 90 fps for my oculus, might be not for everyone but I am not getting sick while playing for a good few hours.
But outside of VR, I go full hd with high to even max settings on games that came out in the last 2 years.

Still using amd 8350 fx after 7 years no problems with 3x gtx 580s

Well im stuck with a laptop core i7 and a gt650m
I can play things I need to turn stuff down but I can play things some more some less.

That said I have learned a lot of games that are supposedly well optimised are optimised like shit on older hardware jp games tend to either run or not. That said if they run its glorious.

>1060 is a low end card in 2020

Fucking retarded spoiled kids I swear to god.

>i3-7100 (yes, really)
>1050 Ti
>8GB
It does what I want and need; 1080p low to medium settings for most games. Modern triple-A elite graphics don't appeal to me.

Read the thread. Also, yeah it IS a low end card, you don't have to be a spoiled kid to know this. Are you REALLY going to call the 1060 a Mid range card?

I bet if you upgrade your CPU your GPU will perform immensely better
It's called a bottleneck

The problem with that, is I would have to also upgrade My motherboard and my Ram just to upgrade my CPU to something that is better. I'm just going to try to wait it out and build an entire new pc down the line when the new graphics cards and Ryzen CPUs come out

Well the new GPUs are supposed to be coming out within the next 3 months (3080 next month then so on and so forth) and Ryzen 4000 should be like December?

My PC is shit, but I only play mahjong and street fighter 4 so it doesn't effect me

Back of the napkin math says that about 80% of all PCs use GPUs less powerful than a 1060

It's literally on the right side of the 80/20 rule lmao

lol I have a 4670 and a 1060 6gb and shit still runs fine

Shit is dire for AMD huh?

>Intel i5-4570
>AMD Radeon HD 7950
>mostly play indie games
>they run fine, even on Linux

I actually wanted to upgrade last year, but, to be totally honest, I'd be upgrading for only a few games -- like, eventually, I want to play Doom Eternal. But I'm not really in a hurry.

I'm already 32, and I think I have some health problems that aren't getting properly diagnosed due to doctors not wanting to make in-person appointments with anyone who coughed in the past 6 months, making me do virtual appointments on my smartphone instead, whereupon the doctor says "well I can't really tell what's wrong just by talking to you hurr durr" (no shit dumbass), so I'll probably be dead soon. Maybe I'll just keep on using this shitty PC until I die.

>1060
>low end
Nigga WTF are you playing??
From the nu-RE demakes, to DRG, I can easily do 1080p / 60fps at High settings.
Come back when ya gotta make do with a MX150 laptop.

>RX 580
holds up decently, struggles a bit with games like RDR2 but otherwise I can play most games perfectly

they havent released the minimum requirements yet, though judging by the Witcher III you could probably run it on a GTX 770 on the lowest settings, CDPR tends to optimize their games well.

1060 isnt low end. If you can't get 1080p/60Hz with high settings it just means your bottleneck is elsewhere.
