With how big Isekai is in Japan, how come there aren't games about it? And if there are what are some? I guess .hack comes kinda close. But it's basically a untapped market.

My wife Rem has a game coming out in 3 months

Game with Isekai, not Isekai anime games.

>steven universe the anime
The day they start porting Isekai games to the West is the day gaming truly dies. There's no trope more braindead, soulless, and lowest common denominator than Isekai

Isekai means parallel world/universe.
You playing a game is already something like you being transferred to an Isekai.
That's why Isekai light novels/manga usually have game elements in them.
Basically it's redundant.

It has a very comfy atmosphere

Would kingdom hearts count?

You've really never heard of the game with the BEST english dub EVER?

>With how big Isekai is in Japan, how come there aren't games about it?

The Isekai genre is literally born due to authors too lazy or creatively bankrupt to create their own worlds so they slap a protagonist in a game, medieval or what have you world and kick off the story there.

I mean, sometimes it works when done well. I have great memories of Escaflone

i think the reason there aren't many isekai games is because isekai is about escapism but video games are already one of the most escapist forms of media

Good. Isekai shit should stay in garbage anime land. This way I can avoid it.

Yeah, but that was before Japan became shit.

Shounenshit is worse and just as formulaic

i like how two of ops pic are associated with sph lol

>The opening cart ride in Skyrim, but the preceding 30 seconds are some nondescript, japanese salaryman crossing the street and getting hit by a truck

I know Konosuba has that but I didn't know Re Zero had a joke like that, when does that happen?

There's nothing with Isekai though.

I love ram's personality. Barusu

Final Fantasy Tactics Advance and the sequel are explicitly isekai, with the protagonists being regular kids transported to a magic fantasy world.

Because when you actually have a working game around it there's way more effort required than what Isekai authors do. Most Isekai's are just based on Dragon Quest and tweaked to fit whatever convoluted story that want.

Thanks for the answer

There's the Ultima series

konosuba has games too

Anime is shit. Grow up and stop watching cartoons.

Video games are cartoons. Even movie games are as no real actor involved.

Why do Isekai so often replicate power structures that exist in real life? I've yet to see an Isekai where MC-kun reincarnates into some primitive tribe where he gets to commune with spirits, fuck lithe amazon-like beauties and hunt monsters with his bros. Why is it almost always big cities, markets, division of labour, class structures etc. Isn't this shit about escapism?

After the initial wave of isekai adaptations and novels hit the big time, a lot of companies started scrambling around adapting every webnovel they could get into LN's/manga/anime/vidya.
These webnovels are usually written by juvenile greenhorn novelists that are barely out of HS.
Most LN writers also lead pretty boring lives and barely research stuff. That's why they always go for basic ass DQ style settings with videogame elements.

what is isekai

they dont count

Masoukinshin (SRW Gaiden. Regular Gaiden, not Alpha Gaiden) is Isekai and has a fan translation of the SNES version

Different world/contemporary MC transplant stories
Obviously not unique to weebshit, but the trope has been done to death so hard in the last decade that it's become it's own subgenre boiled over from tryhard critiques multiple times already

I remember reading some goblin isekai that was basically that, really fucking boring though.

Oh, that kind of thing. I understand now. Thanks.

make one where the protagonist has a gun
and all the bullshit that it causes

I’d rather watch isekaigarbage than the animated vomit that is steven universe.

Isekai game that plays like No More Heros where you are an interdimension hitman trying to unfuck spacetime by killing all the spoiled brats that went to another world when?

the LN market, or at least the bottom of the barrel, is basically fresh retards writing generic garbage so that the associated artist who makes the 3-5 girls who are relevant can pump out merchandising to teen-hearted coomsoomers who will fixate, idolize and eventually discard one of them every so often, as they have no real ability to develop attachments to anything besides hand to penis. Isekai are all the same because battle harems were all the same, so on and so forth.

Of course, that doesn't accurately describe many of the popular ones or even the ones in the op...

I don't care about the isekai shit. Just give me a good fantasy (MMO)RPG.

My problem is most of it becomes Harem shit.

Shield Hero started off good when every one thought he was a rapist, but then he proves his innocence and every one wants his dick.

Overlords Harem shit was more forgivable since its partly because people in mmos are pervy fuckers and would come up with some weird shit. Problem is the anime kinda drags on in a lot of places.
