You do get different rewards based on your choices. Especially "Damned Yanke", you get an item that looks good stat wise but makes combat insanely fucking difficult depending on your choices. Completion-wise it doesn't matter though.

You get different rewards and you can permanently miss the Encounter Finder on Kiryu's side for the playthrough if you pick wrong during the second box choice. If you pick the wrong choice during the producer substory you can only get the best reward by hitting one of the highest ranks on mahjong. Don't make it a habit to pick the wrong answers in this series though, the earlier into the series you go the more punishing that becomes, 2 and Kenzan in particularly entirely block you from fighting Amon if you make a mistake in any substory and if I remember right 3 also has issues with not getting them finished properly.
