The most 8/10 a game has ever been
Satisfying melee combat and cool Hong Kong aesthetics
meat buns
And also pork bun
Bamham, but way faster, way jankier, and way, way more fun
WEI SHEN MOTHERFUCKER
Becoming a whole man
Yakuza/Judgement in Hong Kong. It´s Ludo
Amazingly fun story with GOD AWFUL driving. But the combat makes up for it somewhat. Also make sure you play the DLC.
REALLY COOL setting with shitty gameplay.
A objectively horrible game that you will have an absolute blast with.
Has one of the best missions in any game I’ve played. Slightly above average besides a few really good missions. Ending was kinda disappointing too
Parkour
A gta clone that is unironically better than gta.
Fun as fuck. Pretty much just a Jackie Chan movie into a game. Don’t overthink it, just enjoy the ride.
Great story with good gameplay.
>Game has Cop and Triad ratings
>No impact on gameplay other than clothes
>Wei is an undercover cop but shouldn't be able to commit crimes
>Shoves people into furnaces, throws them on meathooks, and blows their brains out
You can tell it's was meant to be a True Crime sequel and can even tell who Kang and the guy form New York were supposed to be. Just a shame there's no branching paths for how good or shitty you are.
Buckle your seatbelt user, you're in for the best game of all time.
It's a really good game with a FUCKING GOAT soundtrack and comfy open world atmosphere but the fighting mechanics are a bit shit. I could have done without the gimmick of shit lighting up red that you can use to smash people. Otherwise I love it and wish we could get a sequel.
A smaller, tighter last decade GTA game.
>branching paths for triad and cop leading to a different endings where you can either do your duty as a cop and take down the sun on yee or completely give up on his duty and join them for real
Why didn't they do this?
A pretty good game with nice story and satisfying combat.
Because that would miss the entire point of the story.
Just like Wei is not sure where his "home" is, Hong Kong or San Francisco and where his real loyalties lie, the HKPD or the Sun on yee. And the entire story is about him coming to terms with that, with the fact that he has no real "home", that's why he can't commit to a relationship and it's also a big part of your master's lectures if you go out of your way to collect all the jade statues.
It's stated in several reports that he's also such a great undercover agent because he's like a chameleon, able to adapt to any environment quickly. So the entire point of the story is that it's something he just has to accept, he can't just pick one and ignore the other just like he can't ignore the time he spent in San Fran or Hong Kong. He has to make a place for himself between those and that's why there's no big choice.
Great game. If you're tired of fucking around in the GTA sandbox this is a breath of fresh air as it's focused and none of the story missions are stupid bullshit like stacking containers. A lot of 'pretty good' gameplay elements that make a really fun experience.
The lectures were so comfy and the files are nice to read while you listen to the stupid good radio. If it got a sequel making choices should be the focus.
This game is a Hong Kong supercop movie in video game form. If you like those kind of movies, you'll like this game.
story is really good, combat is fun
No jump button
Disappointing that there's no 100 men fight sequence with aggressive AI. I don't think PC has that kind of mod
I'd prefer a sequel focused on a different character but with similar themes. I don't think you can go anywhere interesting with Wei and especially with his supporting cast, basically everyone he used to know or care about has either "completed" their story arc or got killed so you can't do much with them.
But if they do go for Wei again I'd prefer the choices to not be between the standard "triad" and "cop" shit. Because in Sleeping Dogs it's also not a choice, you can get 3 stars on both in every mission if you're good enough. I'd much prefer different options for who to support in the triad and who to support in the police.
The fighting gets old once you realise that no matter how much of an number advantage your enemies have they'll always attack one at a time.
