yup. working designs botched tons of games back in the day, but that's one of the few that actually compares their script to the original. not only did they botch the translations to add in juvenile humor, they also made the games way harder mandating grinding in games where it wasn't necessary. one of the worst localization companies to ever exist

That's an example of good localization though. You're not supposed to do 1-to-1 translations from the original language, that would make the dialogue awkward as fuck. You change wordings here and there so that it sounds natural in the language you're translating to.
