Is anime souls worth picking up? Looks like a straight up 7/10 but I really like the artstyle. Wait for sale to buy it cheap?

Wait for sale, it's nothing ground breaking and the combat isn't all that great. It's fun for a few hours but gets very repetitive. Also heard DLC is shit but never bought it.
just pirate it retard
From what I hear, the story's decent, and it's a good babby's first Soulslike. Like you, I'm sold on the graphics, it blows something like Sakura Wars or Cold Steel out of the water.
it's a painfully mediocre game
just wait for a good sale, you're not missing much
it's about as good as dark souls 2
Definitely wouldn't get it full price, but worth picking up on sale.
It's the kind of game you either pirate to see if you like it or just wait for a sale.
its really cheap with everything it does, except big titted anime girl they made sure this is their main objective
I'm not sure what this means
It's kinda jank, but it has a lot of SOU. Engage with it's systems and switch classes often, that's the main appeal, no point in picking it up just to r1 through the game.
>Also heard DLC is shit
Only relative to it's price tag.
I really liked it, nothing spectacular, but you get to try all sorts of different builds with no time investment. All of them are viable enough to beat the game and do some challenges. I beat it using muskets which almost everybody told me were horribly underpowered. I liked the designs for monsters and characters too, most environments are pretty bland though. I'll probably replay it sometime.
relentlessly medicore
It's ok. similar to souls games in a lot of ways, but it does have some differences. Plot is dumb, but that's not really the selling point. Decent waifu creator. 7/10 is about right. Not worth full price, but worth it with a discount if you like this type of game. DLCs are completely worthless.
It's stylish but the story is extremely melodramatic.
The combat takes a while to click until you figure out how the stats actually work.
Out of curiosity, and as a person who basically has 2 Zig Forums threads to thank for all of his knowledge about this game, what is the plot supposed to be?
Play the demo and wait for a sale.
Don't forget to use your Gifts.
You are a Revenant, which is basically a vampire brought to life by a parasite. After waking up in the lap of a mysterious girl, you and some people you meet go around Vein searching for the source of Blood Beads so you can deal with the famine negatively affecting the land. After a certain point, it transitions to you finding and calming/killing certain bosses to reabsorb parts of the Queen, a Revenant from your past. Has some nice moments, but it's nothing groundbreaking.
Post apocalyptic anime vampires fight monsters, basically. Apparently the same universe as God eater, but I never played that so I don't know for sure.
Biggest offender being the slow combat, can't believe this was developed by the same people who made God Eater but i guess they wanted to trend chase the Souls fad.
As someone who mostly plays Souls, I never thought it was too slow.
You can also make it really fast with certain Gifts, though that comes at the expense of raw power.
Worth it alone for the music
worth it alone for all the cumming ive done to it
>7/10
Is that supposed to be bad or what?
It's fun. I think the gameplay is better than Dark Souls.
It's my favorite game of 2019, and I'd give it a 7.5/10 overall.
My point was 7/10 isn't bad in my book. But it sounded so weird saying
> Looks like a straight up 7/10 but I really like the artstyle
Makes it sound like 7/10 was something negative but at least the art style is good kind of gist.
>1 pre combat theme
>2 combat themes
>2 boss themes
>Same theme played differently on the piano Meh, soundtrack was pretty mediocre.
It's total garbage. Although if you're a ween it's right up your alley.
Buy it, this game is underrated.
That looks cool, is there a build for it somewhere?
Basically the planet hates people and tried to repurpose them by making monsters eat them, but the people said no and made some people half monster.
Meanwhile somewhere else, some people said no and made some people half monster. Then some military guys saw that shit was fucked and created a huge barrier to contain a certain type of monster and everyone suffered for a long while. Then the game starts.
These were all very dumb ideas, but they're the only ones that would work.
I loved it, but I like chuunibyou weebshit sometimes. If you liked God Eater you'll like this.
Mido's theme is great
youtube.com
To the Eternal Glory is also great.
Just stack all of the Gift speed buffs and bring Eva along.
God Eater is much more fast paced and fun combat wise but Code Vein feels like the more complete game.
Vampire parasites infect people while giant monsters invade the Earth. People become vampires who can die but get resurrected. Eventually they become zombie-esque if they don't get blood. You're a chosen one that's unique and you have to stop the bad vampire.
Or at least that's how I remember it. The game takes place in a bubble world while the rest of the world is being destroyed by the God Eater monsters.
Thanks for reminding, music wasn't bad i just wish there was more.

>Mido's theme is great
sounds like generic uninspired orchestral shit now with skyrim shouting
Without spoilers, there are "revenants" (immortal vampire super soldiers). They need human blood to keep from becoming "lost" (insane monsters). There is a giant barrier around the city to keep the lost contained and there are very few humans to get blood from, all of which are controlled by the military. There are also plants that grow "blood beads" which can substitute human blood but the plants are withering away for some reason. You will also hear a lot about "the Queen" and the war that was fought against her recently.
With spoilers basically one day there was a global cataclysm called "the collapse" where the world was ripped apart by all the giant "thorns of judgement" you see everywhere. With the Collapse came giant monsters that are basically the Aragami from God Eater. The barrier was put in place to keep them out but barely anyone remembers this. Project Queen was started to create a living weapon that could fight the Aragami. They succeeded but the Queen either went insane or for some other reason decided to attack the military instead, which was lead by her own father. To fight the Queen revenants were created by infecting humans with the BOR parasite. Your character was one of them. Your character killed the Queen before the game started but was also exposed to her blood and was "killed" for it. Because of this your character has no memory but also gained Queenlike abilities to have multiple Blood Codes, purify relics and regenerate Bloodsprings.
Nice spoiler user.
There's at least 10 different combat and boss tracks though?
It's so inconsequential to the games story does it really count as one
I had to watch it multiple times to be convinced it wasn't speed hacks. Jesus user.
Nobody cares about your fucking weebshit faggot.
