Why are fighting games dead?

Playing fighting games online is a fucking miserable experience.

Niche market

This, not to mention all the games in your pic have the problem of being too simplistic

>2.5k for a fighting game
>dead
HAHAHAHA
I PLAY FIGHTING GAMES WITH

Street Fighter V's numbers are abysmal for being in the #1 most recognizable fighting series plus having crossplay.

why do I need 20k people online to play vs one dude?

The popular ones are pretty active.
They are 1 v 1 games so you do not need 100000 players online just to find a match.
Dota 2 has half a million players and it still takes me 5 minutes to find a match sometimes and additional minutes to acualy start playing.
While in SFV i find a game in less than 2 minutes and get in to a match in less than 30 seconds.

Honestly just 1000 players is considered pretty alive for a fighting game.
But yea anything other than Tekken MK DBZ and SF is dead online.
SFV also has cross play whit PS4 so i imagine you can double or stipple the active payer count.

They have never been alive on PC

If you haven't reached top rank and won tournaments in any of these games you have no footing to call them "too simplistic." Armchair FG experts like yourself is contributing towards the death of FGs.

SFV is crossplay and PC is not the main market for DBFZ or MK11. You know this, but you made this thread anyway.

>PC is not the main market for DBFZ or MK11

Source?

Unironically they are better than SFIV numbers after 5 years after release.

You can't hide between a team to make up for your lack of skills

Fighting games aren't dead, Melee is still doing great user.

Same thing in Dota Underlords. Same thing with Age of Empires (playing 1v1, which most do) which has better player counts than any fighting game.

I think because they made them for competitive players while casualize them at the same time. not enough casual for casuals and not enough competitive for pros.
I as a casual want to play fun singleplayer modes, story mode etc I want cool and sexy characters, cool moves.
Pros want good balance, no supers etc. Why can't they just make all super casual flashy moves exclusive for singleplayer modes and remove them from online?

This is my favorite videogame.

Supposedly Tekken 7 has a compatible market to PS4 on PC.
Especially the player base in Korea who is 99% on PC.
Most people say they acualy find games faster on PC than Ps4 and often have better matches.

Not just tekken. Most SF pros prefer the PC.

remember anons, take your pills

The irony is they had less players online when they ware hard as fuck.
Personally i am disopinted they made combos simpler in SFV but i do not miss 1-2 frame link BNBs.
Althou SFV does have characters whit hard as fuck combos.
In retrospect the only true difficulty in combos IV had was the timing for the links.

Smash is not on that list.

You can only have so many groomers in one place

because they are filled with negroes and it turns out you can't buy games with EBT

Of course not, because smash is booming

>genre stagnates
>any attempts to change it is met with autistic spergouts from puritans claiming that the genre is ruined
Literally suffering the same fate as Arena Shooters. It's the type of genre that can't change or it will lose the veterans or stagnate and will never get new players.

Which changes you propose?
