It didn't happen immediately but in hindsight it killed my enthusiasm for games. It was the last game I bought on day 1.

I genuinely don't believe I can get hyped for anything in games anymore. No matter what it is, the current style of gaming development will fuck it up.

same as yours. it seems like I stopped enjoying video games as much in general after MGSV. It's not even like I hated the game, I had fun with it, I dunno why it happened. that feeling I got when I was 20 hours into Chapter 2 and realized that the game ended hours ago and I didn't even realize it was weird and depressing.

People where paid to design 'destroy the minefield 1 - 25' and basically youre just a loser who will never get to be a game dev. This game killed my soul.

When it started to become apparent that the Medic/Venom theory that was hypothesized THE FUCKING DAY Ground Zeroes came out was actually true, and that we didn't actually get to play as Big Boss in the final MGS game

I actually would have liked the Medic twist if the game released and we just played as our created character instead of that whole Big Boss face swap shit.

PW was the last good game from MGS (story and gameplay) GZ had the best gameplay but shit story almost rivaling TPP

serious question, are the first 3 MGS games worth?
I know it sounds stupid, I never finished the first one and want to try it again, maybe even get a Vita to have those on the go.

My Vita is literally an MGS machine, only own the MGS HD collection on it.

Tell me anons how can i recover from despair over Paz, i still feel it even though i completed GZ+TPP a while ago, i was about 13/14 when i played PW, and Paz was my absolute fav game, with PW being my very first MGS game
I still listen to her Diary entries as i go to bed, not everyday, but once every month or so

After MGSV set in I stopped getting hyped. Even with all of the excessive gameplay they showed they still managed to disappoint me in a completely different aspect

There's a difference between developing an appreciation for the medium which causes excitement upon the revelation of new titles catering to your personal taste and idiotic hype culture. If you ever gotten yourself hyped, any and all disappointment that ever came to you is completely your own fault. I am excited for Metroid Prime 4. But I am not hyped. I patiently and gratefully look forward to its release.

After the chapter 2 trailer and realizing the second half of the game was a retread if the first.

MGS5 was legitimately a 10/10, and in the top 5 games of the gen with Bloodborne, Witcher 3, BotW, and DMC5.

The trailers were too good, it ended up hurting the game.

People expected a masterpiece, the trailers were fantastic (because they were out of context) ,Ground Zeroes set the bar really hard and we got poor man's Far Cry 3. Even Far Cry games have more iconic villains.
