It looks a lot better and I understand how much work this must be, but the sad reality is that it still looks like shit

Why do zoomers worship this game

still looks jarring

You're going to have to qualify your statement with an example of what doesn't look like shit taking into consideration artistic intent and the gaping asshole that is opinions.

BRUH

I don't think all the side-effects from AI upscaling like blurry and smudgy lines count as artistic intent, so my example for something that doesn't look like shit would be any image without those side-effects.
It's honestly the best the team can do and way better than the official release, but AI upscaling is still in its baby shoes.

you should kill yourself

>high definition brown
this game sucks

Just play it on a CRT

The AI keeps improving, so if some other autist puts in the effort we might one day get far better than this.

You're going to get a lot of brainless Anti-AI upscale fags in this thread saying it still looks like shit. It looks incredible compared to the original and that's just a fact.

But still looks like shit

It looks very smeared but I've been playing the game and think it's okay. The game is oddly bright though with poor blacks and shadows.

too bad the story is still ass

Oh shit. I thought AI upscale was a meme. And I was thinking about replaying IX, since I haven't played it in over 10 years.
This practically neutralises the discord between blurry backgrounds and character models. Very nice. Can't wait to play it.
I just wish they'd also do FFVIII.

I remember when i tried ff9 after playong ffx and thinking it looked fucking terrible. I always hated ps1 graphics. This looks much better

looks pretty. Come back when the painfully slow battles are fixed

Did they fix the battle menu being the shitty mobile touch screen version, though?

Noice.

Some of the set pieces looked good, but some of them still have that weird brush stroke texture effect that AI upscales seem to apply.

There literally is a mod to speed up battles. You even need it for the Moguri mod.

Millennials do, not zoomers

The PC version has a speed-up button but it just speeds up the slow. What I mean is the game still hangs between actions/switching to other characters/ animations etc. Does the mod fix this?

Absolutely love the game but remembering the slow battles always puts me off a replay.

You can make the battles run at any frame rate you want. I played the whole game on double speed and it was pretty fun

You don't need a mod for that.
>Seven game boosters including high speed and no encounter modes.
Even if it wasn't in the game, you can just launch Cheat Engine and click "Enable Speedhack".

It looks like shit.

No matter how much you try, you can't replace the information lost between those pixels. If anything, you'll lose more detail due to the original aliasing doing a better job of filling in the gaps than any 'intelligent' filter can. Smoother edges just aren't worth it.

Also fuck the official HD port for having a similarly atrocious filter which can't be disabled.

What can't AI do, Zig Forums?

what I meant was, does the mod fix the fundamentally broken code?

The answer is no

I'm not not sure what in the fuck you are talking about, desu.

I'm too lazy to make a webm of what I mean, and you're probably too lazy to watch it if I did.

Let's just assume I'm brain-damaged

I've been playing it for the first time with Moguri mod and its looks amazing.

I'm loving the game as well. Cool ost, characters, and I like how the story focuses on summons as weapons

There is a turn based hack that makes all of your abilities go off when you use them, but it defeats the entire purpose of the combat system... Using double speed where the enemies attack while you are selecting your attack is way more fun

Other mods do. Why are you being a bitch tho

based crab poster

Would playing this on a crt tv look better than the original or would there be little noticeable difference?
