I've dropped 20 pounds in about 2 months. Ring fit is fun but exercise alone will get you nowhere. It's all about diet.

Been on IF for about a month now. I lost 20 pounds but I assume most of it is water weight. I just want to work out my weak arms but I feel crippled without the gym.

most people just give up after a month
assuming you being about 5'9. when you hit around 190-200, it's going to start being a real struggle to lose more. Don't stress out if you start stalling for a few months brother. A lot of people give up at that weight level.
Can't afford Ring Fit so I bought Yoga Master for Switch.
As a person that I used to do Yoga and Pilates, this game is legit.
I'm actually bulking. Still doing Ring Fit occasionally for some cardio, but mostly doing dumbbell lifts at home.
Do the workouts in this game really make you work up a sweat or just one of those gimmicking things that make you move around but don't really make you break a sweat?
I went from 3 sets of 10 push ups to 3 sets of 20 push ups, I really feel the progress.
I need to work on my abs though.

If you take it seriously and do the workouts on higher difficulty, you're gonna sweat a lot.

I was losing weight for awhile from a fatfuck just because I had a physical job and didn't eat too much, off-setting weekend drinking and mostly maintaining 'less fat, but still fat' for a bit
covid's got me on month 5 of being a neet, and I'm gaining back pretty fast, and I can tell how much weaker my body has gotten too. I realize this isn't the gym, but is this game a good starting point at least to wake my body the fuck up?
Limit yourself to 1700 calories a day, you will notice a difference in 2 weeks. Just fucking do it pussy, what are you a pig? You can't control yourself? Bitch.
It's a decent work out, but depends on the exercises you choose. You can be a min-maxer and just spam the high attack/light movement exercises or go for the challenging exercises. For example:
The hip shake (just hold joy con above head and move hips back and forth) does more damage than 15 planks.

Just finished today's session, reaching World 20 and beating the first boss, and acquiring the last piece for my Guru Gear.
Fuck Overhead Armspins. No matter what, I can only get a few Greats out of the exercise, and doing it on the trial runs never gives me >80 points. Usually like 20.
And fuck the Dreadmill. Every other game is either alright or enjoyable, but Dreadmill feels so innacurate, clumsy, and frustrating. The name is very fitting.
Yeah, it will get you active. That said, you gotta diet or exercise isn't going to do much. Don't do any gay trendy diets, just get MyFitnessPal and track everything.
Those planks are brutal. I try to avoid the easier exercises like the arm twists. I'm thinking of switching out the yoga moves too.

I'm with you. When quarantine started and I lost my job, I stopped smoking pot, but started drinking more, nearly every night. Even if I'm fasting most of the day and only eating a meal or two, the pounds keep on packing on, and this game barely helps. I just need to cut out booze entirely.

How accurate is the calorie counter especially when running in place? I feel it burns so fucking much.
I went full carnivore(two grasss fed ribeyes per day) and have been losing steadily. It’s really the only thing that prevents cravings. Keto was hard when try to make keto versions of pizza or cookies. That just reignites cravings for me.
Don't trust any calorie burn numbers. They will just trick you into losing less weight.
This is the realization I'm sadly coming to, even though being drunk is the only time I basically have fun at this point. I've cut out beer, and only drink straight vodka now, which is cleaner, but it's still a lot. If I want to not gain from it I need to pretty well fast the entire day and hope I don't say fuck it when I'm drunk and cook something awful or order.
I've actually been wanting to exercise my arms more, but the harder exercises do like 20-25 damage (front and overhead arm squeeze thing). The arm twist is almost a waste of a slot, but does 90. The game needs better balance.
Yoga isn't too bad, Warrior 3 is fucking hard though.
