First half of the game has bad gameplay
You might as well play it if you like the series. After New Order they went downhill.

It prioritized story over gameplay, and the story wasn't good. Instead of having a captivating, nuanced, and dark story with sprinkled elements of fantastical levity like New Order (space Nazis on the moon), they went full schizo for this one and didn't know for sure which direction they wanted to go. Just play RTCW again, user. If that game's B.J. was in the New Order, Deathshead would be wearing his head on backwards before the first mission was over.

Yeah but the story is a lot more prevalent in it than in The New Order. It also had shittier payoff with less engaging level. New Order had great levels that were interesting and had good bossfights. The majority of people who finished TNC didn't even realize they beat the final boss until the credits started.

It's good, had a blast with both of them and the gun combat is something.

I liked the New Order as well, but New Colossus has bad level design, terrible AI, and boring mission design.

i dont mind strong story with the gameplay but the story was shit. more focus on woke politics than anything else to the point of character assassination.

Just my opinion, but I didnt have fun with this one. Seemed like the levels were really small, and unintesting.

Gameplay is solid, but a downgrade from the first game (which didn't have perfect gameplay anyways). Hit registration and gunplay in general feel worse. More interruptions between story and gameplay.
It looks great.
Story is, unmitigated, a disaster. As other people have said, it prioritizes story over gameplay, and the story is really fucking bad. The tone is all over the place, the characters are wacky and zany, and the actual plot of the story is just... strange.
It can be summed up like this.
>nazis in New Order: cruel, horrific monsters. basically the combine from HL2. every time the player sees the nazis they are committing some kind of warcrime. the entire game has this desperate, defeatist tone, like BJ can only mitigate so much carnage despite the nazi's winning. but you wanna kill them because of a hope for a better tomorrow
>nazis in New Colossus: your parents. wacky dudes built to be killed. tons of jokes made at their expense, overall threat level is greatly diminished in-game, but lore threat has gone INSANE, to the point where they've colonized fucking VENUS despite having a moonbase that's still under construction in the first game

This tone shift tore me out of the story.

That's the entire game. Specially the way they shoehorn blacks. The only memorable scene from the game is walking around nazi 50s US and evacuating the launch site metal slug style.
