i distinctly remember spearing his fat ass right after the zone disappears and i've completed remastered like six months ago, i think you were online in this webm
fuck man you made me defend dark souls 1
What's wrong with the second one?
j-just wait till elder things comes out then y-you will s-s-see
I remember when I realized that ADP was the most broken stat in the game
you ran right into his giga BRAP GAS
Not gonna defend, but DS3 is still my favorite and I've been playing since Demons on ps3
You've got good taste. Don't let anyone take that from ya.
Whoa, it almost the same shit as with shield use and poise
>NOOOOOOOOOOO I WANT MY SIX SECOND IFRAMES
DS3 babies need to go.
I don't play these games, but those first two hits clearly missed. Is this Dark Souls 2 or something? I've heard many bad things about that one.
>struggling against Ornstein and Smough first time playing Dark Souls 1
>finally manage to kill one of them
>the other powers up
>devise a strategy where I hack away at their healthbars equally at the same time
>a long grueling back and forth where I deplete all my resources
>both have mere pixels of hp
>land the finishing blow on Smough
>Ornstein comes back with a full healthbar
Quit the game for a week there
No they are all the same, people just decided to have problem with second one even though it has the best combat system and is closest in general to very first game.
yeah people hate it for no reason, zero flaws to be found whatsoever.
You heard wrong. DS2 is the best one and people are only fuckin mad cuz they saw some shitty textures once and the grass is too loud and theres no barefooted waifus
the game had incredibly stingy iframes unless you invested in a certain stat (i don't recall the game explaining it). so if you got clipped just slightly for a single frame it would count as a hit. combined with a few wonky hitboxs ans some extremely powerful grab attacks DS2 had a lot of "WTF how did i get hit?" moments.
REKT
WTF ARE "IFRAMES"
2 fags never cease to make me laugh
cope
All the souls games have rolling as an option for avoiding damage. Rolling gives you invincibility frames. In most of the games, the amount of i-frames you got per roll depends on your equipment weight. In Dark Souls 2, they tied the iframes to a stat (as well as equipment weight for roll distance) so if you don't level the stat, you may run into problems with some of Dark Souls 2's bullshit-ish. Their hitboxes are questionable at best (almost all giants have 'splashes' where they swing right next to you and you get hit anyway, Velstadt's hammer can hit you when it stops moving and you just run around it, etc), pivot like insane (see youtube.com
>his stats actually helps the character to dodge
>OMG SHIT GAME!!!
he got hit by an invisible frame, yes
DS2 has awful hitboxes on top of a stat that you have to level for i-frames
Frames of an animation where you are invincible.
Souls tards ITT,
can you explain your obssession with From games? You played all the Souls games, and they were all the same corridory, streamlined experience with gameplay that boils down to "target-lock enemy, dodge button when enemy attacks, retaliate--rinse, repeat". I am not breaking it down. These are the exact inputs for 95% of encounters. You can't say that about Ninja Gaiden or even Monster Hunter without breaking it down.
You can't even expect a learning curve from From Software that would finally culminate in something new. It took them like 30 games to add basics like verticality; climbing and diving to their games. CDPR achieved that after only two games in Witcher 3, plus
1. villages,
2. decision making,
3. puzzle solving
and actual open worlds. Meanwhile Cyberpunk gets a lot of hate from a lot of you. And no, I don't even like CDPR.
From Software can't figure out archery to this day, which is clunky and feels tertiary. They finally added new mechanics to Sekiro--turns out all of them suck, especially the tools and arts of which you have about 50 and can only pick one to actually use on the go (instead of being incorporated in the moveset). They will never push off from the very limiting input layout for their games, and the terrible framerate and things like bad hitboxes are further emblematic of how little they care about gameplay.
Souls games are overrated (especially by Reddit and NeoGAF types) to a degree that will never cease to baffle. I have a theory as to why it gets such high praise yet barely wins any GotY awards: Most reviewers actually hate the games but are scared of the "HURR, YOU ARE CASUAL!" shitstorms which would occur if they were to give them the deserved scores. Remember, Famitsu gave Demon's Souls 20/40, and then after all the Namco marketing they gave the much worse Souls 2 40/40.
I understand finding them OK, but what's up with your obsession? Is something wrong with you?
All From games are trash and always were, only since DaS marketing people suddenly started "liking" them. Imagine hyping shit like this all day
Don't listen to the DS2 fags.
You should try playing the first one and later the second game and believe me that you'll find the difference.
they had to make the game near unplayable just to justify their leveling system
Jesus, what a couple of fags
>they had to make the game near unplayable just to justify their leveling system
No, it's pretty playable. I just think that you can't play it properly. It have some problem with hitboxes and tracking, especially that salamander bullshit, but in general and overall, is pretty solid and well designed.
they're fun to play and I like fun games.
This. You need a fairly high IQ to comprehend the beauty of broken hitboxes, ADP, enemy spam, ambushes, and shit level design.
Unironically yes. The level design isn't shit, you're only saying this because "shitty game has shitty things". ADP isn't a good idea as mechanic in souls game, but it's implemented well and it works fine. Broken hitboxes are the same of the other chapters (as you can see in this thread), ambushes is a thing from every soul game.
>if you get hit by jank and invisible bullshit its cuz >you're bad lol
Looks fine to me. Get good, shitter.
>Looks fine to me. Get good, shitter.
