Dragon's Lair & Space Ace would get called movie games if they released today despite being good games. Every bit of animation is charming and keeps you going as it tests your reflexes (even if it's tuned up to munch quarters).
The only modern game I feel manages to be a movie game in the same vein as Bluth's games that keep you engaged when you're just watching but still expect something out of you when you're playing is Asura's Wrath.
