since Venom is (You), he's basically punching the prospects of (You) being a demon and enacting Operation Intrude N313 to hurt Cipher.
You are basically saying no to your fate, instead you go out into some nondescript smoke, the mystery of the future perhaps and go out and do whatever the fuck you want in-game, that's why it is not an "ending".

Yeahhhhhhhh no I'm pretty sure Outer Heaven changing logos isn't a thing in canon and that they're only referencing the old logo to acknowledge that the MSX games exist.
It's clear that the mirror punch takes place in 1995 because you literally have a tape flipping over to N313 before this. When the punch happens, the new OH logo instead of the old one shows up.

It's possible, but it seems odd to me how they had the "new" one correspond to the 1980s and the "old" one for the 90s, and even had Outer Haven for when Ocelot takes over in that ending timeline
But yes, it is also odd for Operation Intrude N313 to be planned out from 1984, though it could've been a convenient way to convey an idea that Snake's fate is looming, and that one day he (alongside the player) will die, and until then we're gonna be in what feels like a war without end.
It's also just as fucked up for Snake to punch a mirror and suddenly go back to 1984, though perhaps this adds to this game's schizophrenia.
