Almost everything Nintendo does is based in Japan and nips are tech-illiterate as all fuck. Almost none of them were prepared to work from home.
Both Sony and Microsoft for the most part work outside of Japan where people can work from home in a more efficient capacity.

Nintendo isn't doing 1st party reveals in Directs for some reason. All the Directs you're getting for the rest of the year is more Partner Showcases.
Any holiday releases they have lined up will just have trailers shadowdropped like Pikmin 3's was.

Their last announcement was to tell us that Halo Infinite, the biggest game that would launch for their new console, was delayed. Also every trailer shown at their big event had no gameplay and are coming to current gen consoles anyways. MS is unironically in a worse place than Nintendo right now.

honestly I thinkthe biggest issue for them is the leaks, working remotely makes it nigh impossible to prevent leaks from happening. I can absolutely see the higher ups decide to delay game devlopment to a standstill, rather than risk everything getting leaked.

how is it that all other gamedev companies can avoid this but nintendo can't? it's as easy as putting more strict access restrictions to files and git repositories

Except they don't, other big publishers have leaks all the time. Ubisoft are pratically notorious for it, Sony has also had many leaks of gameplay trailers and demo reels leak lately too. It is extremely rare for an in-house Nintendo game to ever leak.

WHat will happen even IF Nintendo releases a Nintendo Direct thats 1 hour long with games like BotW2 , Materoid Prime 3, New Donkey Kong 3D, new IP, Bayo 3, No More Heroes 3, Mario Party 99, Mario Kart 9, Golden Sun "Tale of the Gods", a new wave race combined with F-Zero, would implement Netflix/Amazon shit, would announce a new Pokemon Snap
