what would be your ideal paper mario game?
Friday paper mario OC thread
Need to keep thread alive until I’m done with work!
uh pirate shy guy
City as a hub would be great.
Expand on the partners, give them more moves, maybe Partners would have a FP counter separate of Mario. Maybe 2 out at a time? And make badges that are unique to partners, like being able to modify a Bob-omb partner's explosions.
>what would be your ideal paper mario game?
a real third paper mario game would be nice
I've got something made that I'm really happy with but it's on my other laptop and I'm currently in bed and too cozy to get up, keep this thread alive for a bit!
I like it, the skull belt buckle is a nice touch
>chapter based around mario infiltrating a pirate ship
>primarily shyguy crew led by the disgraced general guy, now taking the personal role of captain guy
>mario gets thrown into the brig once he's discovered and finds out the mcguffin is in captain guy's personal quarters
>meets swabbie in the brig, with swabbie imprisoned because he washed captain guy's map of the sea clean a few weeks ago
>their ship has been going in circles ever since
>with swabbie's mop taken away all he has to his name is a lantern, which very conveniently lights up the darker parts of the ship mario wasn't able to explore before
>after mario and friend break out of the brig they formulate a plan to sink the ship by getting rid of a "ballast" that's keeping the ship from flipping, held on the front of the ship and locked away
>this "ballast" ends up being gormet guy, stuck there in a dark room because he hasn't had anything tasty in a good long while
So instead of an rpg it would be an open world game with first person and third person view options, you would start as a mario waking up in a cart in a forest, and the gimmick is that it looks more realistic
The first line would be "so your finally awake"
So last week and user said he wanted to see some PM Kremlings. Well my friend, I said I'd take a stab at it and gosh darnit, I aim to please!
Story- After taking out the evil magician in Frost Vegas and saving Merazzle, he heads to the swamps where a Mc Gaffin is said to reside. Seems it's in an old rundown mansion deep in the bayou that can only be accessed via a bayou cruise that makes several stops on the way (think Excess Express).
Along the way, the boat is attacked by a group of Kremling bandits. Mario takes them out and eventually runs into a blue hatted Kremling named Kreole that acts as a miniboss, and joins Mario after the fight when he realizes that the other kremlings abandond him (that and he doesn't care much for the thief life, he just wants to fish).
Mario and crew eventually make their way to the mansion which is where the boss of the Kremlings, Cajun K Rool lives. Turns out he's been using the Mc Guffin to cause chaos in the swamps. In his fight he uses voodoo to summon zombie Kremlings to aid him, as well as other tricks.
he just wants to fish for gods sake
In the OW, Kreole can use his fishing pole in a similar manner to most Koopa partner's using their shells, meaning he can break blocks and grab items. He can also use it like a hookshot to grab distant objects and pull him and Mario to them.
In battle he has a few abilities:
Rod Bop- He runs up to an enemy and smacks them with his fishing pole.
Fly Fishing- He casts his line at an enemy (can hit air based enemies as well), dealing damage and stealing held items.
Fish Splish- Kreole reels in a fish from off screen that spits a water stream at a foe
Line Twirl- Kreole twirls his line around as fast as he can, causing foes to become dizzy.
I drew my OC party two days ago, so I suppose I can share it here as well.
Edgoomb is a mountain climber (he's named after Edmund Hillary after all) that scales summits all over the land. Him being the first documented person to reach Mount Mirall's peak kicks off the events of the game, where Mario, Peach and the royal cartographers go to the mountain to map out the newly discovered area.
Kara T. is actually the disciple of the Master of Toad Town's dojo. She meets Mario in chapter 1 while she's on a journey to grow stronger and asks him to spar, joining him after the fight in order to travel with him.
Guyver is a shut-in mechanic, but Mario requires his assistance to open a hatch in chapter 2 to access the sewers of the town. He reluctantly tags along but eventually sticks with Mario after realising that his quest is pretty important to the world.
Mielanie is the odd one out, being a Pyren, an original species. Since Flurrie and Vivian were completely original species, I sort of wanted to have a partner like that as well. When Mario travels to the Lava Falls, he enters the volcanic cavern there. Mielanie is intrigued as she ususally doesn't come into contact with any outsiders, so she follows him around in secret for a while, before revealing herself and joining him to see more of the world.
Lastly, there's Arkus, who's both a Magikoopa and a Dry Bones. He lived in an old clock tower a century ago. Mario discovers his remains when he enters the now abandoned tower. At the top of the tower, he restores power, causing lightning to strike, reviving Arkus in the process. And since he's grateful to Mario and he's got nothing planned anyway, Arkus joins Mario.
Here's a new one, needs work.
DERETE THIS
I also made this Booru number thing, if that's still alright. Wasn't sure which character to go with, so I used them all, but if you only want one on there, I could also settle for that.
They look pretty neat, good work
Always wish we could have gotten a robot partner. I mean, I guess we had Tiptron in SPM, but still, I'd love a partner like this.
Im sorry anons, I wont be able to finish and post the badit girl pussy sandwich today. I have a sand grain or something in a kidney since yesterday and im in bed dealing with the pain. Pls manageto keep up the thread alive until the amerimutts wake up.
>old army goomba who's loyal to a fault
>ended up walking between two pipes for thirty years before mario ran into him
>teeming with army knowledge learnt from his days in military training, most of his tattles come from war stories, no one knows if they're made up or real
Love the fact that the tattles are very personalised.
The colors of the hearth in her chest are dangerously close to something many people in this website hate.
I like these
i really like that bob-omb design. instead of just blowing, it could use the holes in his helmet to create a blast working like a shotgun
what would his overworld skill be like?
I hope this thread lasts pretty long
Sorry that happened, user, I hope you feel better
I like him
Sound like nice concepts for chapter
Sweet
Take my updoot kind stranger!
Thanks
blowing up walls i guess
could also be able to use his precise explosion to rocketjump?
a horizontal charge who let mario grab his partner and go at full speed without being able to stop letting him to pass gap or just pass corridors super fast
Awesome
Finished doing the party for Paper Luigi: Sarasaland Tour based on Super Mario Land (so if you haven't played that game, a lot of this will be meaningless)
Might do some sketches to illustrate their Field Abilities this weekend. I such with names though
BASIC story premise is: Mario, Peach, & Luigi are invited by Princess Daisy to do some tourism around the Four Kingdoms of Sarasaland. Once the party arrives in Daisy's castle in Chai and is greeter by her, Daisy announces she's getting engaged to the alien Tatanga (much to Luigi's dismay). Peach calls out her friend on being clearly out-of-character (he's been hypnotized by Tatanga) and the party is immediately surrounded by Daisy's subjects (probably Pionpi) and captured, Luigi narrowly escapes thanks to his slightly superior jumping abilities. As he wanders the street not knowing what to do, he learns that (hypnotized) Daisy has ordered her subjects to search Sarasaland for the Four Elemental MacGuffins, so Luigi has to get to them before Tatanga's minons do.
Final Boss would be hypnotized Mario who carries on Tatanga's work after the alien is defeated
These are top-tier designs right there. You did an excellent job tweaking their anatomy to fit with the Paper Mario Style so that they don't look out of place at all!
These are also excellent. All of them are exceed charm, especially the Dry Magikoopa, but I couldn't pick a favorite here! Nice to have one OG species, and since there were mermaids in Odyssey it's not too far fetched. (Plus Mermaids are insta-waifus for e)
