Was the N64 a disappointment? It had a few big games but beyond that the library seems really small. Lots of sequels too which feels like they were a little desperate.

stop posting this thread you schizo

No idea what you're talking about schizo.

>Was the N64 a disappointment?
No. It was a revolutionary system with tons of fun games.

>Lots of sequels too
And that's different from literally every other system.... how?

The sequels on other consoles are Sonic 2 to Sonic 3 & Knuckles. The sequels on N64 are three Mario Party games and 3 Pokemon Stadium games. Very different gulf of effort.

By the time I was a playstation kid, but I wanted a Nintendo 64 so bad.

there were 3 stadium games?

Yes. Everyone had a Playstation.

Yeah

Nah, it was great, no wonder its games are still super popular and fondly remembered today while the PSX "gigantic library" filled with mostly trash is forgotten.

Yo zoomer, kill yourself

>most games are exclusives
>no loading times
>generally larger levels than Playstation and Saturn games
I'm thinking it's based.

I mean sales wise yeah, it got destroyed by the PS1 but the 64 held its own, filled out its own little niche and is fondly remembered today unlike the Saturn ( if judged at face value ).

this is the console that has the most nostalgia around it and is considered home to some of the best from nintendo. combined with rare, its a no brainer.

>>most games are exclusives
No, this is definitely not true.

The ones worth playing are.

Never met an N64 fan that didn't like Mario 64 or Zelda.

The n64 hate and ps1 cock and ball worship in this hellhole is annoying.

>n64 hate
>on Zig Forumsintendo
wut

>i've never met an N64 fan that didn't like exclusive games with large levels and no loading times
I don't see your point.

Not exclusive, you just said they aren't worth playing.

>sequels on other consoles
>only referring to the saturn
so you are the butthurt saturn schizo

>Not exclusive
Yes they are.

Those are Genesis games zoomer.

I am an unusual case, born in 90, my experiences with N64 in the actual 90's were SM64, Lylat Wars, Mischief Makers and Goldeneye (via a friend, i owned a PlayStaion).
I didn't experience OOT until around 2002 or 2003 when i picked up an N64 for £17. There was a deal at the shop for any 3 N64 games for £12. I picked SM64, Lylat Wars and OOT, because i had obviously heard.
Despite having owned current gen tech like PS2, and seeing what games like GTAIII could offer "scope" i was completely blown away in 2003 by the lived in, fully realised world of Hyrule in OOT.
I had zero childhood attachment to it, It is without a doubt one of the most remarkable video game experiences ever made.

The first one was only ever released in Japan and was never well known in the west either. Not really a zoomer thing, more like a "didn't care to look up lists of pokemon games long after pokemania was over and pokemon was dead anyway" thing.

>emulated port
>made the next generation
Exclusives = exclusive for that generation. If we're counting up to modern day nothing is exclusive thanks to emulation.

I see constant fucking 64 dissing in alot of threads. I get it you guys grew up with a play station. Well i grew up with a 64 its a matter of taste. Id sooner play a 64 but i love scyphon filter 1, twisted metal 2 and a few other ps1 games too i just dont think its hot shit. Also the 64 controller difficulty is a meme.. Again i get it you dont have experience with it. Left hand on middle section right hand controlling c buttons. At least its not a d pad

>Exclusives = exclusive for that generation
Disingenuous goalpost shift

>I see constant fucking 64 dissing in alot of threads
Maybe because it wasn't good and retards like this: constantly overrate it.

>Disingenuous goalpost shift
You're the one with a retarded definition for exclusives, not me.

Exclusive means only available on that platform. If I can play the games on a wii, ds, gamecube, wii u, 3DS, they aren't very exclusive are they? Seems to be the universally accepted definition, for example the Switch is derided today for its Wii U ports. Those games are old and are no longer exclusive. Just like Ocarina of Time and Mario 64, no longer exclusive. In the case of games like Ocarina of Time, the later versions run and look far better, so the original is an inferior version.

Does N64 only have inferior ports?

Neither was the ps1. Oh wow! 70 million rpgs. Too bad im not into any final fantasies so lets just cross 50% of why you would own a ps1.
