Do not TRUST the Selkie.
Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles
They stole the physical copies outside Japan didn't they?
Squeer Analix is just afraid to admit it.
What?
How do they keep getting away with this?
>Get angry at remaster
>Play it
>The problems are actually minor in the face of what a huge improvement drop-in/out multiplayer is
>Everyone will skip this because Square forgot to include town lobbies
I hate it
There are no physical copies.
Considering I only play for the local MP experience, the game is utter rubbish to me because of the changes. The shit online is just a poo cherry on top of a shit product.
>magic is much harder to come by in multiplayer
>it's even harder to fuse spells with randoms
>my Yuke and Clavat suffering in the early game
>Selkie's focus attacks are fast and fun
Oh no. I'm actually enjoying Selkie. I might main Selkie.
Wait, they took out local multiplayer?
>having to remake your lobby after every fucking dungeon 4 times for this multiplayer game
prease understand
it's a remaster made for mobile, so they scrapped it even though they ported it to everything else.
You can play it locally. That's the point of putting it on phones.
>Have a group of four friends
>Options are
>>All four of you run through it the first time as Mog then do a few rounds together in a lobby.
>>All four of you start a multi with randoms then pair up for a few rounds together.
>>Open and close lobbies with each other multiple times.
Everyone acts like 3 is the only option when 1 and 2 are how you should play. Only clearing a dungeon once per cycle fucks you long term anyway. It's frustrating because an easier option exists and should have been implemented but wasn't, but everyone acts like that means you have to go about it the worst way possible.
Or
You know
It could be like divinity and you play the game together like a coop game should be played
>All four of you run through it the first time as Mog then do a few rounds together in a lobby.
What's the point of this, I'm playing for a multiplayer experience with friends.
>All four of you start a multi with randoms then pair up for a few rounds together.
What's the point of this, I'm playing for a multiplayer experience with friends.
Why go so far out of your way to defend this trash?
Literally the entire reason I wanted a remaster is so I could finally play the game it was intended to be played, with a full party of friends going from town to town and dungeon to dungeon all together on an adventure.
Why would I settle for these half-measures playing most of the game by myself or with randos I don't know for every dungeon, and only replaying levels with my bros every now and again?
Why did you repeat what I said about how it should have been while ignoring my point about how you don't have to do four runs connecting and disconnecting?
Shit, if your group wants to blitz the game you can do it the first time with them and then disband to do solos/random online for a single repeat. I would prefer the old system too, but people are acting like this is a game ruiner when you have to CHOOSE to make it that awful.
>What's the point of this, I'm playing for a multiplayer experience with friends.
>you can do it the first time with them and then disband to do solos/random online for a single repeat.
>Why go so far out of your way to defend this trash?
Because it's not trash, it's a slightly inferior number of options for progress and a QoL downgrade traded off for the insane flexibility of online play. This is a game you can not complete unless you play more repeat content than original content. It's a game where you need to do 16 runs per dungeon *minimum* for completion and would be ill advised to do less than three per cycle. It's a game where the fun is running and re-running content with friends. If having to do a solo run or help some artifact hunting randos out before/after raiding with your friends is a deal breaker, the game wouldn't be able to hold your interest anyway.
I hate that they did this, but people are blowing it way the fuck out of proportion and pretending you have to do something far more tedious and annoying than you actually do.
jesus christ the DS CC games are such garbage. Fuck them for going the route of DS instead of Wii, and for making the one on the Wii a glorified walking simulator with minigames.
Repeating each dungeon 16 times is not how I played with my friends on the Gamecube, at most I recall playing dungeons like 3 times.
And like I said, you can replay them as little as twice per cycle if you want to play with your friends.
Or how about not having half-assed multiplayer like that?
> he did get the kino story and top tier multiplayer at release
I feel sorry for you bro, you missed out
You and three friends want to play a multiplayer game together. Here are your options
>Don't play together
>Don't play together
>Play together but take four times as long to get anywhere
Or, an unmentioned fourth option
>Play together until the last dungeon which only the host can do
>I WANT TO SPEEDRUN THE GAME
>You can do that
>NO BUT WITH MY FRIENDS
>You'll have to take five minutes for a second run, but you can still do that
>WOOOOOOOW SHIT GAME SO TEDIOUS
Like, I dislike the change too, but this is a stupid thing to treat as damning. The game is designed around replay. I'd agree that it's awful if you actually had to quit and rejoin four times per dungeon, but you don't. Being able to start up a run with your friends whenever is far more of a positive than having to run through River Belle Path once without them to move on.
Question about the original
Could I miss out on questlines or something? As in "You can only get this sidequest on year 4 if you do X"
>I want to play the game the same way I was supposed to play the original
>NOOOOOOOO YOU CAN'T DO THAT BUT LOOK AT THIS OBTUSE OTHER WAY YOU CAN PLAY THAT DOESN'T AT ALL SALVAGE THE EXPERIENCE!!
kys you retarded shill. I'm not buying this crappy remaster, it'd be less obtuse to try and put together netplay for Crystal Chronicles, which is really saying something.
>Don't play together
>Don't play together
>Play together but take four times as long to get anywhere
user, you made a typo, let me fix that.
>Play solo once, then play together
>Play random multi online, then play together
>Play together but take four times as long to get anywhere
Nah, there's no missable. Even the artifacts that cycle out later are grabbable as random drops.
>This remaster is inferior in some qualities, but some of these have been exaggerated and it's way better in other ways.
>>NOOOOOOOO YOU CAN'T SAY ANYTHING EXEPT "GAME BAD" NUANCE IS FOR FAGGOTS IT CHANGED THINGS SO IT'S AUTOMATICALLY WORSE
The changes to the diary are worse than the online system, you retarded faggot.
>kys you retarded shill. I'm not buying this crappy remaster
I never said you should but it. I'm saying you're making a mountain out of a molehill like a hysterical cockgobbler.
>it'd be less obtuse to try and put together netplay for Crystal Chronicles, which is really saying something.
>turn game on
>add friends
>run dungeon
>bum rush second time solo
>continue
>Set up Dolphin
>Set up VBA
>Set up online function with friends
>Configure controls/emulator settings
>Hire a hacker to fix Goblin Wall
It's just so much more convenient!
Nah it all repeats, some quests only take place in certain points in the year though, like year 3, 6, 2 and 4, or whatever
Some events are mandatory and happen at certain points of progress, and some are random and only happen after certain points of progress, but nothing can be missed forever.
>The changes to the diary are worse than the online system
I barely played the original, what's different with the diary aside from the dumb memories/999 counter?
The original lists them by year and orders them chronologically. The remaster removes both qualities for the sake of functioning as a checklist. It really should have added the new diary as a glossary instead of replacing the old one. The original format was pertinent to the game's themes.
Why do zoomers pretend bad games from 20 years ago are secretly good, but the good games from 20 years ago are overrated nostalgia magnets?
i played them, they were ok, the presentation was atrocious though even back then.
>weapons are literally flat pixels
>characters are even MORE chibified due to the graphical limitations
>enemies look like paper mache childrens toys
gameplay was decent but CC on gamecube looked amazing for its time and still does, DS games completely failed on that front.
user, the game is from like 7 years ago, it was on the DS you retard and had 4 player multiplayer.
Was top shit.
Didnt read lol
Shills get bent
I don't give a shit about online, give me local multiplayer
Wait, hold up. Are people actually defending the changes to the multiplayer? Jesus fuck, that's fanboyism on an entirely new level if you need to defend that shit.
No?
Posts like this are ironic you autistic faggot.
Excusing/defending it. I'm convinced it's a literal shill.
