Why was a soccer star good at swordfighting? Don't say it's because of Shuyin or whatever, that was never officially confirmed.

he isn't, he fumbles when Auron hands him Jecht's blade.
Sword fighting isn't hard
Also he was a dream of the fayth
They could have imagined him having a 20 inch hog and that would be the way he is
We'll find out soon. The stories of FF7 and FF10 are still ongoing.
he wasn't good at the beginning sucker
Being an athlete helps. It's not like he had special sword abilities like auron other then being fast on his feet and doing flips and blitzball shit.
You mean football.
rent free
Because of Shuyin or whatever. I'm officially confirming it now.
wich is why all his overdrive skills consist on rapid movement instead of fancy sword moves, dude was a natural fighter
Auron taught him how to swing dummy
Why was a swordfighter good at sportsball?
>soccer star
it's Blitzball brudda and probably Auron or Jetch taught him a little also at the start of the game he just goes along with it when the monster attacks
Why was the sportball guy not even the sportball guy in battle
He's not he is just quick amd nimble which makes up for it. Plus his abilities show he was more of a support for the rest of the party.
He wasn't though, his attacks are wild swings
cause he a chad
He mainly just smacks dudes/monsters with it, right? Not like he's having honorable duels. And he can do a lot of damage because of ANIME. There's also a dude who damages monsters and robots by kicking those soccer balls at them so whatever.
He looks like a final fantasy character
>FF7 remake ends up spilling over to FF10 story territory
>The remake-saga ends with the player planting the blitzball bomb
Its just dream logic. One seconds your playing soccer inside a ball of water, next your the best fighter in town. Do you question the logic in your own dreams when they are happening? No, you just go with it. Same thing with Teedus
This would be more believable if he weren't the third best damage dealer in the game behind Wakka and Rikku. On a casual play through, he's probably the 2nd best character after Wakka. Even if we don't go all meta and just go by developer intent, he still comes off as a competent "Guardian" storywise and fights as well as any of them as if he were an actual swordsman or bodyguard. It is a little jarring since, if you've ever watched two athletes fight each other, they suck at it without training.
But considering all of the other crazy shit in the game, it's kind of a silly thing to nitpick. Tidus is capable of kicking a ball in a U shape into the sky.
time jannies can undo tidus death
it's possible within canon
He's good at slayin, he practiced plenty with pussy instead of monsters.
everybody can swing a sword, with his agility and skill a simple sword swing will be very deadly.
it's not like he's fencing against other swordfighters, he just has to swing wildly at the monsters
You, with a woman?
This guy gets it. Tidus is incredibly unskilled throughout the entire game with the sword. From his swings, to his stances, to the way he just kind of casually carries it around.
But you don't need to be a skilled swordman to chop at giant monsters and demons and creatures and shit. He never once goes up against someone with actual sword combat experience.
Athleticism, did you see how high that spic can jump.
I'm good at football, so surely I'll also be great at basketball despite never having played it.
>This would be more believable if
Cheer is the best support buff in the entire game, and on any challenging battle Tidus's first five turns is literally just Cheer spam because that's more useful than his DPS. Haste is the next best support buff after Cheer, which is why Tidus's next turn is spent using Haste on everyone. The only reason he's the 3rd best DPS in the game is because of his final overdrive being multi-hit, and multi-hit is the only property in FFX that matters once you hit endgame and everyone's reliably maxing the damage cap.
The word soccer was a european creation, relating to the association. Cope and seethe.
If you take a star football player and hand him a sword and he spends the next two years of his life doing nothing but fighting monsters with that sword, he'd wind up a pretty damn good swordsman by the end of it.
He was bad at the start, he got good
