I thought it was a really great game/movie.
I enjoyed it more than the first one and only have two major plot points spoiled for me.
Hopefully the ps5 remake will have Tommy's day 1-3. I would rather wait longer and have a $20 10hr xpac rather than another Left Behind

The characters were okay but it's like the writers made them do the most retarded decisions every time, making everything go wrong again and again. I just kept expecting dissapointment from the story, nothing good ever happens.

>Did you play it?
Yes
>Was the story spoiled for you?
Yes, on Zig Forums and twitter, wasn't willing to give up social media for the months between leaks and launch
>What did you think?
One of the most intense emotional experiences ever made in a video game. I felt things I never felt before.
>Expectations for part III?
Abby is given mission by new Fireflies to find Ellie so they can make a cure. I do think there will be a third game just to spite the people who think Naughty Dog "killed the brand."

Good happens to Abby but not Ellie, i think that was the point though. Ellie was so focused on revenge that she didnt realize she would lose everything/everyone from it (dig two graves)

I watched an interview with druckmann the other day. from the way he spoke it sounded like he intended the franchise to be a trilogy this whole time. I hope they do make another one, its a really cool universe and they can do a lot with it. Just as long as it doesnt become an "uncharted" cash cow

Retarded storyline.

It felt like a story written and directed by a 14 year girl and her manipulative, psychopathic father.

>good happens to Abby
Lol

-Yes
-Nope, only watched the reveal trailer and first gameplay footage from E3 2016. Avoided this place ever since Naughty Dog warned everyone about the "leaks". Basically went in totally blind.
-It was amazing. What blew me away at first was the gameplay facial animations ie; when Ellie's face tenses up when performing a stealth kill, when in combat mode, etc. It's also one of the most violent games I've played next to the Manhunt games in terms of realism.
>I think Part III might focus on Abby and Lev more in California, but also switch to Ellie who will probably be in her mid 20s. We'll have to wait and see.

Considering how disappointing the sales of 2 were I doubt we will ever see part 3.

>shes still alive
>so is Lev
>she found the firefly's
>got to kill the person who killed her dad
thats about the most you can hope for in the post-apoc

No
I watched the story since that's the only thing it had going for it gameplay change wise the only changes I've seem to have seen was shooting while knocked prone and jumping.
The story was awful and full of contrivances.
Hopefully not existing.

not for two years~
im sure they made money on it, plus they'll come out with a remaster for the PS5 if their smart. Might not happen for five years but im sure itll come. Even if you think the story sucked, the game play was a lot of fun

>Did you play it?
Yes. Finished on Grounded.
>Was the story spoiled for you?
Yes. It must have been near impossible to avoid the early game spoilers, and I kept hearing minor descriptions about the ending and saw bits and pieces of clips even while trying to avoid all discussion about the game because I was just too hype. Probably should have avoided Zig Forums even harder than I did. Otherwise, there were still many surprises in store for me.
>What did you think?
Thought it was pretty great desu
>Expectations for part III?
Don't think there will be one

>Abby is given mission by new Fireflies to find Ellie so they can make a cure.
That could be a strong possibility.

No, no, and it looks like it sucks
>Part 3
Dear God no

I think going by what they did with this game they'd do anything but make it a cash cow. They could've easily turned joel into a cereal mascot for money but they killed him off a few hours in instead.

>multiple people she considered friends and even her lover were brutally murdered
>the reason they died is because she dragged them all the way to Jackson on her revenge quest and then half assed it
>her entire organisation is up in flames (debatable whether she cares much about this anymore but it must hurt given how many people she would’ve personally known)
>captured, tortured and probably raped for months as a slave
Yeah, she didn’t exactly get off light

>impossible to avoid the spoilers
All I did was avoid this place, Youtube gaming channels and online gaming for 2 months. It wasn't that hard really unless you're obsessed with social media.

now, user, you do understand that bad things can happen to you buy you ultimately end up okay/good

Ok, but good doesn’t happen to Abby in the game like you said. Up until the very end and Lev (who she suffered gravely for) nothing but bad shit happens to Abby

>Did you play it?

Yes

>Was the story spoiled for you?

Yes

>What did you think?

Gameplay and graphics were really good, story could have been good minus the tranny crap and lefty ideology garbage.

>Expectations for part III?

Hope Ellie finishes the job finally.

>Did you play it?
At midnight launch, even.
>Was the story spoiled for you?
I avoided spoilers, but only by making a serious effort to (I left Zig Forums for months and was very careful on other sites). In the end the only thing I really knew was that the plot was divisive in some way. It was worth it. I really wish I knew who leaked it and why.
>What did you think?
The story was the most powerful emotional drama I've seen in any game, and the actual gameplay was slick and intense as fuck (I played on Survivor). Easily GOTY, and arguably GOTG. Right now it's the one game I most wish I could wipe from my head and re-experience.
Pic related was absolutely insane, one of the most perfect moments in gaming history as far as I'm concerned. The game borrows a lot from film while remaining unashamedly videogamey and uses the medium to its full advantage.
>Expectations for part III?
There'll definitely be one, towards the end of the PS5 gen. Unfortunately probably a somewhat safer storyline following the backlash to this. It'll likely focus on Ellie's survivor's guilt, with a timeskip of a decade or so, searching for another way for her life to mean something.

It's a 6/10 at best. All of the drama was more manufactured astroturfing by Sony, whose movie department has turned it into a business.

It's not an amazing game. It's not awful. The lack of multiplayer is a load of shit when the first game had pretty great online play. People were railing about the story being the greatest/worst thing of all time but it was just mediocre. Characters do things purely because the drama and conflict require them to. The central thrust of the story is flawed from the start and the "revenge" theme has been done a thousand times better by a thousand other pieces of fiction.

>good doesn’t happen to Abby in the game
>Up until the very end
based retard? yes

Yeah I have nobody to blame but myself, user, but when I'm too excited for a game I tend to slowly watch more and more new content of it before I get to play it- sometimes watching damn near the entire thing. I'm slowly gaining enough sense to know when to stop.

agreed, i haven't played a game with a more compelling story in my life. I also wish i could experience again. Ellie is one of the most badass characters in gaming. I need to wait a few months before i can play it again. Hopefully we'll get factions before the holiday

>Did you play it?
Find out ONE WEIRD TRICK from OP to instantly filter half of the replies!

Right, but if we’re comparing the two, Abby suffered WORSE than Ellie.

Did you play it?
>I did. Finished the game on Hard for first playthrough. Fair challenge, but the refined mechanics and wider, more intricate set pieces made it more than possible. Never relly felt like I had enough ammo, though.
Was the story spoiled for you?
>Oh yeah, it was. I knew everything.
What did you think?
I was never not going to get the game. To keep it short, I liked the game. It wasn't as bad as the leaks made it out to be.
Expectations for part III?
None whatsoever. We didn't even need a Part II. IF, by some chance, we get a Part III have it be about a new cast of characters. Like they should have done for this.

>Did you play it?
Yeah, for about ten hours
>Was the story spoiled for you?
No
>What did you think?
Boring as fuck, first one was much better oaced
>Expectations for part III?
Hope it doesn't exist

>all the people who said yes say they liked it one way or another
>no response from the people who didn't
kek

See

Fuck no
Didnt give a shit
Ruined a good IP to be a platform for bullshit sexual politics
Everyones an androgynous android and any showing of emotion is met with a swift brutal death that will be well animated, plot revolves around Elle's orphaned child, the last human with a gender

Politics aside the actual gameplay was superb.

I think theyll start part III where part II left off, then after about an hour have a 5-8 year jump to ellie in her mid to late twenty's. She'll probably be back with Dina, but i wouldnt be surprised if they kill her off. I think the idea of Abby hunting Ellie for a cure would be interesting, but i dont think it would be good for the story. Abby was a good character but we dont need to see her anymore. Glad im not the one who has to write it

>sexual politics
examples? are you one of those people who yell "DUDE BUT LEV WAS TRANS, THEY SHOVE IT DOWN YOUR THROAT" even though it was literally mentioned twice and in less than 20 words
youre obsessed with trannys, im sure you go to /gif/ and ask for sauce
