All that free games and stolen exclusives don't seem to be enough reason to move from steam left alone buy anything there.

If they really wanted to "compete," they'd offer a better fucking product or service. Not shit out a half finished storefront missing features that have been standard in online commerce since the early 2000s.

I can't see how it could possibly be turning a profit when it's literally giving away free games and every exclusive is only there because they got extra money on the side. There's no fucking way it's profitable, to be profitable it would have to actually sell games normally, without paying for exclusivity in the first place and it would have to sell shitloads due to the smaller cut.
It's still in the phase of attempting to draw a user base, though I think they actually cornered themselves by making the store into a place you either grab free games from or one you get forced onto you for an exclusive rather than a regular shop you might simply browse for general purchases.
