So, a new company purchased this (yes, again) and has been pumping new content. Does Zig Forums remember this and/or still play it?

user they announced 2 days ago a massive nerf to ppe. Everyone is seething.
It was always worth it for a free user. Money can only buy garbage items. Also they added daily quests and login bonuses that give you the actually useful premium items for free (such as backpack, exp doubler, keys, etc).
The real change that made this better was making all UT items soulbound. Now you can't buy a doom bow off the shop, for example. If you want the best items you need to loot them.
I started playing 2 days ago and got a doom bow drop that many people spend weeks trying to get. So I killed my character off and restarded as an archer with an OP weapon. It's very rewarding to know your weapon can't be bought in-game from other players

user it's been several several years since Oryx Castle was reduced to early game content
For some time there was the wine cellar which spawned after killing Oryx, so you could fight him again (O2) but with much better drops
Now there's a wine cellar equivalent to the wine cellar where you fight O3, the current hardest boss in the game

What do you mean? You only lose your character if you die. Only the realm itself resets.

Did they finally fix the fucking lag? Game is made of pixels and it manages to lag even on the beefiest of hardware because of all the shadows and filter shit.

It now runs on Unity, not Flash. And you have control over all graphical aspects.

The unity engine is a huge step up, makes it way more playable.
Have the new changes actually been implemented? Are low vit / wis players really THAT fucked given the new regen changes?
Also, pets deserve to be nerfed into the ground. Fuck em

Also also: I've been making a browser game over the last year that's basically RotMG mixed with .io games like diep.io with a heavy emphasis on arena PvP. I've gotten some realm players playing it and they fucking love it.
16 late-game classes with a tiered class system (leveling to max takes about 15-20 minutes depending on how many times you get PK'd or killed by a mob) and non-instanced late game bosses that you can tackle with teammates etc.

I'm really hoping to recreate that magical time where RotMG was flavor of the month on Zig Forums and we were all discovering it for the first time. That was so much fun bros

I genuinely admire your efforts and wish you the best of luck but you should really try to find an artist or at the very least someone with a basic sense for UI design.

The update is not going to fuck those players over. It'll make no difference for them. Actually they're getting buffed since you'll regenerate twice as fast when out of combat.
The nerf will target divine pets. It takes years to get those pets.

First they doubled regeneration period
Then they halved that for combat
So it's effectively the same as it is today

Yes, but pets are still really good and you can't simply not get one. The difference is like... If before pets healed 100hp/s, now they will heal 50hp/s. Not as broken but still too good to pass on

yes i still play it. exalt is sick. i love doing halls/shatters and crystal cavern runs too

You only need a level 50 pet to breeze through most non-lategame content without fear of dying

ironic since most discord trannies are saying they will quit with this new update
other than nerfing pets they are also nerfing large groups, so no more discord dungeons with 80 people, if you do this the health of all enemies in the dungeon will scale up
they also reduced the base health of many enemies to encourage smaller groups

Sounds completely based to me. Steamrolling content was way too fucking easy last time I played
