The difference is that a 3080 will run Playstation games better than the PS5, and it can also run Xbox games better than the XSX. Can a PS5 play Xbox games? No. Can an XSX play Playstation games? No. Can a PC with a 3080 play Xbox and Playstation games better than their respective consoles? Absolutely. Building a PC is like buying a XSX and PS5 combined.

Not only that, but the XSeX custom NVMe drive ensures devs a MINIMUM of 2.4GB/s. PC owners will know that NVMe drive bandwidth shits the bed in non-sequential read/writes and is at it's lowest then (usually like 60MB/s). So XSX has addressed this with their custom SSD.

Snoy on the other hand has a TARGET of 5.5GB/s and has said nothing about the minimum. Due to the need for wear leveling if Sony doesn't have the same tech (extremely unlikely as most consumer NVMe drives don't have 2.4GB/s minimum R/W and Sony is letting you use consumer NVMe drives to expand PS5 storage) means in reality the PS5's SSD will be smoked by XSX/Ampere/RDNA2

Remember how Halo Infinite is supporting Xbone still, which still has an HDD. The PC market is exactly like that. The most popular card on steam is a 1060 so raytracing still wont be a mandatory thing for a long time either, just something you can turn on optionally. Devs will need to bake everything still for the poorfags.

And show what? Mutliplat games will most likely be shown on PC and PS5 at least has their exclusives. I doubt Sony want devs showing off console comparisons between the SeX and PS5 because it will most likely look much better on the SeX. Some random indie devs said that the PS5 couldn't run their game at 120fps while the SeX can, and got an angry mob of Sony fans bitching at him.

RTX IO is Nvidia's naming for the the HW and driver tech that powers Microsoft Direct Storage and Xbox Velocity Architecture as it works on PC
It's not unlike how "RTX" is Nvidia's term for their implementation of DXR support in HW and driver
