Post yfw you didn't waste money on an RTX 20XX
I'll wait for the benchmarks. Remember the PS3 Cell technology?
>mfw i got 2060s
SLI literally scales like 30% if you're lucky you'd be an absolute retard if you werent lying
im still holding onto my 770.
actual benchmarks will make me decide if i want to upgrade or not.
Bought me a 1660 ti a few months ago because I wanted something better than my 1060, but knew current RTX cards were a waste of money, and new cards that BTFO them were on the way.
Thanks for the beta testing
>One cuck card to another
Just buy a flagship instead of getting a new card every year
Consolelet cope
>mfw I got a 2080ti last July
Is a 1070 going to be fine for the foreseeable future if I just game at 1080p @ 144hz?
No
I haven't felt this vindicated in a good while. Knowing both of my PCs are going to be able to get upgraded graphics hardware to match their specs for less than $1000 total is really welcome after Turing broke the bank for no real value.
>mfw 1070
>does the job fine no complaints
>still itching to pull the trigger on a newer mini card soon
Christmas is coming up I suppose
With the 3000 cards on the way, there was literally no reason to waste money on a 2000 card.
You probably can't even play RDR2 at 60fps on that GPU lol
I'm with you 1070 bros
the age is finally starting to show
depends on the game, why would you want a 144fps resident evil 2?
I have that and I don't even think it's worth thinking of buying a new card until 40xx. I went 480->1070 and I saved tons of money and fucked your moms just as hard.
3080 is gonna be in the 800$ price range?
>Wanting to play that unoptimized piece of shit
699$
Did you not learn how to read a chart in school its between 600 and 800 so its 700
>no preorders
>mad dash for the 3080s on sept 17
>AIB cards will get cleaned out as well
should I try going to my local microcenter and see if they'll have a stock of cards on release? I don't think I'm winning the f5 lottery on launch.
I have 1050it. Finally time to upgrade
>"NOOOO WHY ARE YOU STILL USING THE OLD 970, YOU GOTTA UPGRADE TO THE 2080 NOW FOR RTX"
I'm so glad that I held out
I did and I got a full refund which I can perfectly use now
RTX is a meme, anyone who spends more than $400 on a graphics card is an actual fucking retard, and even that price point is completely insane and bloated.
No GPU can
Still rocking the 1080ti. Guess it's finally time to upgrade.
Where my RX 590 chads at?
Well, looks like I was right to get a 2080 Super on clearance.
I want to play games now and not wait until the 3070 and 3080 are in stock in fucking February.
What is he thinking right now?
>mfw from 970 to 2070S early this year
Guess Imma cope and wait for 40XX or at least a 30XX super/ti.
It comes out in 3 weeks dude
If you are on 1080p then you are fine lmao
Thinking of putting a gun in his mouth and shooting it
What about the rest of the 30xx series?
I got a 2060 the other day for $220 open box at microcenter to replace a 970 and I'm not too upset about it really, and I hate spending money. never ever buy flagship. never ever pay full price. always get dem rebates. always resell your old cards. fuck them gpu makin mfers.
>tfw still using 780 that i got for £120 4 years ago and avoiding all the garbage 'AAA' games
literally what do you need all that power for
Canada is so much lower priority than everywhere else to get stock in video cards. When the 10xx came out, out of stock online and in store for 2 months, when the 20xx series came out I didnt see a physical board in stores here for 3+ months. Fuck that shit.
3070 beats out 2080ti and is $500 and the 3090 is like some $1500 TITAN producer card
1080Ti chad here. Glad i waited.
kek, i'm literally trolling local adds for 2080ti's right now with "$250?"
>tfw 980ti on 1440p 144hz
Not sure whether to get a 3070 or 3080 for £180 more
based
Wew
Shit, guess next year I might upgrade
>show rtx improvement as leap.
3.5gb master race. 2000-fags tears are delicious.
>RTX is a meme
lmao, imagine not knowing about DLSS in 2020
This is what gets me. You can buy a ray-tracing card but what the fuck are you going to use it for? Minecraft?
NOOOO YOU CAN'T JUST WAIT FOR 30XX, YOU MIGHT AS WELL JUST WAIT FOR 40XX AND 50XX
>exchanging money for goods and services
LMAO couldn't be me
980 has done me well for it's gen. For that price difference I'm definitely going 3080 this time around.
>RTX improvement
>980 and 1080 on the graph
>needing DLSS when a 1080 TI already gets 100+FPS in every game that matters
You shouldn't need fucking machine learning AI to make your game run at presentable framerates, AAA devs need to hire actual programmers and optimize their shit.
surely the price for 2080 will crash right?
gtx 970 4gb chad reporting in
that's a great price. I got a 1070ti (open box, not used) for $260 when 2060 was $300+. I kind of regret it except my 1070ti is a 3 fan with more display port outputs. my friend has a 2060 and runs well. but I will definitely get a 3080 at some point, I want to keep on running games 1440p with either ultra settings or above 100fps
>start new game
>turn off bloom/glow effects
>turn off AO/DoF
>turn off film grain
>turn off motion blur
Congratulations, you can now run every single modern game at 60+ FPS, and it's actually playable without giving yourself a fucking aneurysm.
you're right but it's just the truth that developers tend to be shit or their game is optimized for console first, pc second. I still want to play with good graphics and high fps and $700 is not that crazy considering how much I play vidya
I haven't purchased a GPU since 980ti
BAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHS PRICE GOUGERS BTFO.
>proof of concept that brought us here and gave everybody a hard on for ray tracing
>waste
fuck you I hate tech illiterate retards like you the most
you're in the same class of idiots that went "3d graphics? who needs those when 2d is good enough?"
FUCK YOU
I have a 2080S, I guess it's the next best thing, still too soon to upgrade.
I wish games with AO didn't look like washed out shit without AO.
the cards were arguably overpriced and that's where the hate comes from. the hate is just misplaced is all, the cards are good when the prices aren't being considered
I've had my 1080 for a while now. I skipped the 2000 series.
Is it even worth upgrading if I have no plans to make the move to 4k? I'm fine playing games at 1080p and so far haven't encountered any games (outside ones that are horribly optimized) that my 1080 can't handle.
yes because there have been 0 graphically-intense games this generation worth a shit
>post yfw you did
God damn, im amd fanboy, but this is pretty huge if true.
Fuck off, maybe factory 3080, you know brand gpus are always pricier
Maybe it's finally time to upgrade from my GTX 970
if you play AAA games on higher settings or want to play the latest competitive shooters over 100 fps then yes. otherwise probably not. but you might consider getting a 20 series card when the price drops because DLSS will become more and more common, and you get huge fps gains just for having raytracing cores in your card
