Are gaming laptopna meme?
Are gaming laptopna meme?
>8GB of RAM
They're decent if you're a college student and you need a laptop to lug around to classes but also use it for gaming in free time.
Even if you don't play video games gaming laptops usually come with a lot of power so they can be used for other stuff as long as you don't mind the bad battery life 90% of them have
Isn't that CPU way too weak for that graphic card?
most gaming laptops are easy to upgrade when it comes to ram and SSD
>They're decent if you're a college student and you need a laptop to lug around to classes but also use it for gaming in free time.
>carrying around a 4kg RGB monstrosity around in college
Have fun never getting laid
And yes I have received many compliments and girls are flirting with me simply because I have a macbook pro
I do have a laptop that I use it to play low end games, tho unfortunately I can't play Nier Automata since not only it lags, it also crashes, which sucks because it looks so much fun.
I'm not entirely sure if I can get a new computer since I'm just broke.
I mean, I have 12GB of RAM, so that's something.
I payed 300$ and got a laptop that can run any game
user, nobody gives a shit if you had sex before.
I had a classmate like that. His monstrosity sounded like a fucking jet engine trying to take off every time he'd do anything with the machine. I guess the fans and airflow was fucked to all hell.
My sister got this baby, great keyboard, great thermals it looks like a business laptop, it's not light but it's not really heavy either if you go with the 15'6 inch version
Are you purchasing a laptop because you need the mobility and it would be nice if you could game too? Not a meme
Are you buying a laptop for gaming? You're a retard
Every single idiot in my country got an ASUS TUF A15, I can't believe how fast they were selling out just because it had 8 core Ryzen CPU that it can't even use along with 1660ti for 1000 euros.
I told my sister to pay more for this Legion 5, I haven't even heard the fans except when heavy gaming
>intel
still better than any lenovo garbage
Ask yourself, how often you are travelling and not at home so you need to waste 1000 bucks on a vidya machine that runs worse than a cheaper desktop product.
This. Women are more attracted to apple users than your thinkpad laptop running linux.
Pics of sister?
How else am i supposed to play while laying in my bed? That's the ultimate form of comfiness
There are a lot of sleek non-gamer looking gaming laptops out there
You have already failed at life if your only goal in college is to get laid
By hooking your desktop to a large ass TV since you don't want to have a piss warm thing on your lap that will have fan failure because you seated it on a blanket.
Get a gaming laptop if you travel or have uni but also get accessories for a regular pc and a good monitor so if you want to upgrade to a desktop later its easier
>been wanting to pick up an eGPU
>Gigabyte stopped making the Gaming Box for no reason and everything else is hilariously fuckhuge
>but also get accessories for a regular pc and a good monitor so if you want to upgrade to a desktop later its easier
And also because it feels better and is more comfortable than staring down at a laptop
gaming laptops are just desktops with the screen and keyboard built in. why would it be a "meme"?
the only real downside is the limited drive space since you can't just shove fifteen 4tb hdd's in it.
>caring what thots think
I got a gaming Lenovo for college that was pretty cheap
The hinge shit out hard but it lasted for as long as I needed it to
I'd never recommend getting one if you're not in a similar situation
based and fluxpilled
>great thermals
nice try wang. i have the legion y530. its my lucky hour if i can run league of legends on the lowest settings with stable 60 fps in 1vs1 without that piece of shit chink junk box will overheat and drop the fps to 45 and stutterer like biden
That model is two years old, I don't know the specifics, Legion 5 has really great termals and it was the best option we had
You’re an idiot.
Lots of these things look like business computers now.
If you’re really concerned about looks. You could get a new thinkpad and an external GPU for when you’re back at your desk.
>buy shitty gaming laptop
>complain about thermal throttling
Thermals are also a problem and cause the components to run at a sub-optimal level. That obviously depends on the case design but as a rule the thermals are always much worse than a desktop of similar spec.
You can just get a laptop cooler that can stand up
>Not using throttle stop and a cooling pad
>get good laptop
>after a year it's having serious overheat issues
>"oh fuck have i EVER cleaned this thing?"
>hit up one of the main heatsink vents with some compressed air (looked clean as hell from the outside, didn't expect much)
>dirt dust and god knows what else fly out of every possible tiny crack of the machine
>hit up a few more points of ingress and the same thing happens every time
crack open the back and it's STILL horrendous in there
>once i exorcise the demons entirely it runs like brand new again
>clean it monthly now
don't make the mistake i did anons
>They're decent if you're a college student and you need a laptop to lug around to classes but also use it for gaming in free time.
yeah this is the worst reason to get one, tons of people regret it
>free
of course this roastie thinks that shits free, what had she ever had to pay for
Last time I was in college was four years ago I'm just going by what younger people I know do. What's the better alternative?
cheapo. light laptop for courses and rig for home
Each is better at their intended purpose and it's probably cheaper than trying to match a rig performance
>light laptop for courses and rig for home
This is good advice but it depends on circumstance, in my country most students were from out of town and we had to sleep in these government dorms where there's not enough room for a desktop and even if you can fit it in someone will just steal it from you when you leave it unattended. I carried my laptop around everywhere i went
