When's remake part 2 coming out?
It's not gonna be available on current gen, is it?
probably mid 2022 at the earliest

Sad times
Why didn't they just make all 3 games and then release them within months of each other
they wouldn't be able to milk it for eternity that way
i'm legitimately floored at how (relatively) good it ended up being
if you removed the ghost shit, leslie's backtracking, and fucking around in jenovah's pod for some reason it'd be a pretty good game
time jannies and allt he shit that entails is massive red flags but it's technically possible they won't fuck up the shit in the future
unlikely, given squeenix's track record, but possible
Looks like the time jannies are pretty much gone anyway - they've served their purpose of establishing a reason for the story to diverge from the original and we've destroyed their "leader" or whatever.
Honestly, I really enjoyed the Hojo's tests section, even if the pacing seemed slightly odd - but wasn't that meant to be while some main faction avalanche troops were attacking the HQ, so he'd have time to toy with us, especially now he recognises what Cloud is.
From all the shit people were saying on here, I didn't think I'd love it so much. The boss battles in particular are some of the best I've played in a long time. Hopefully with the removal of time jannies and stream lining the side quests (fewer of them + more actual challenge + more story relevance + better rewards) would make a perfect part 2
>implying they could do that.
Mate have you seem how bad some areas look in the first game?
Cant imagine how bad it would be if they rushed the other parts...
Bzinaflnr
I didn't mean exactly the jannies more just how fucky the story could get from now on, which is what they represented kind of.
yea the bosses were surprisingly good too, i normally think anyone who says something's better on hard is full of shit but most of the boss fights were better on hard, though that's partially because so few games actually introduce new challenges/mechanics in hard modes and just do stat bloat
though even on normal the boss fights towards the end get pretty good, if you changed the tentacle spam portion of jenovah's fight a bit then it's pretty much just a chain of good bosses
the jannies are kind of whatever as a fight but they're not bad though
hell house was good too, probably my 2nd or 3rd favorite fight
Every review mentioned the sidequest problems. I doubt they do the same system again. They will probably remove them or rework them to be less + important.
I never really had an issue with any of them other than a few being stupid like finding kids or something.
Though I generally like sidequests, I liked the bestiary shit with chad too.
Crack Shoot.
I really don't give a shit about graphics desu - yeah, the "climbing up to topside" bit has a funny looking background and Tifa's apartment's door is ridiculous, but really - who cares? Still a great game gameplay wise and the graphics are generally great anyway.
Yeah, hard mode doing more than just "higher hp lol" was great, and not being able to use items and having to manage MP throughout the chapter is great.
Hell House, holy shit, hardest boss on hard mode for me so far. After wondering where those houses were during the "trip to wall market" section of the game, it was fucking great to see him pop up as a boss. Same with swordipede.
Meh, people here hated them even though they werent on the same tier to me. You fight special enemies, you get meaningful rewards, some little story bits that last for less than a minute, and they are completely optional.
If they were "kill 3 smoggers then come back for 500 gil", i would join the complains.
failed experiment probably killed me the most on hard because i couldn't tell when the adds could be hit since they get phys immune as well as reflect
They could certainly have been better but as you said they were given at least enough meaning to not be complete monkey ass quests
You fight special enemies in a couple of them, some are just "fight enemies you've met before" though. And some are just "fetch this shit for me" stuff too.
I didn't mind them so much, but doing the side quests when you've first met Aerith just seemed stupid when Cloud should've been worrying about Tifa and Barret, or at least on escaping Shinra. The others all made enough narrative sense to not be jarring.
Plus Kyrie is cute and wouldn't exist if not for side quests so it's all good.
>people played 7r without lowering the voices/sfx to 6 and keep the music 10
You are missing out.
>Plus Kyrie is cute and wouldn't exist if not for side quests so it's all good.
Isn't she from some old ff spinoff thing, or some character that looks near identical to her.
I just finished Failed Experiment now (only got the game last week, I'm late I know)
Decided to mostly ignore the little guys and just focus all my efforts into throwing Ice spells and Ice elemental Barret bullets into his back, all out offensive worked surprisingly well.
The whole planning out which materia to use system was translated really well from the OG - putting it into an action rpg setting instead of pure turn based allows for a lot more choice and customisation. Loving it.
Ah well yeah, I never played advent kiddies or doggy dirge so I dunno if she existed before now.
Either way, she's about to be replaced by Yuffie soon, the OG qt thief.
Given their previous attemps at arpg combat I'm kind of confused as to why this was relatively good.
It's not turn based but how they do atb is a pretty good approximation for it if you want to do arpg shit.
>soon
in 2 years maybe, and I wouldn't be surprised if they replaced her and vincent's acquisition with some more concrete thing that happens later on
Ponyboy
The last FF game I played before this one was 10, but since I loved 7 as a kid I figured I should get this one.
I was sort of assuming/hoping the combat was similar to this in all the recent games, but... is that not true? Might not check them out after all.
Yeah, I doubt they'll have whole characters be optional with the amount of effort and polish they're putting into cutscenes and with how scripted party formation is (although they probably SHOULD open it up to player's choice a little more and make Red playable)
>I was sort of assuming/hoping the combat was similar to this in all the recent games, but... is that not true? Might not check them out after all.
15 has arpg but it's bad
13 had some atb shit that I don't even vaguely remember but I think it was at least pretending to be turn based it it wasn't fully
before that you get to 2006, but they did just come out with a new version of 12 so that's something
I dont understand why people doubt red will not be playable.
Clyde
If they continue to try and keep everything super linear in the rest of the game that's going to lead into a whole bunch of retardation.
It barely made sense in the first part, they'd ahve to bend over backwards to make up shit for it across most of the rest of the game.
