Why is brand loyalism so prevalent in the gaming community?

Most people into PCs these days are brainlet posers who go with what’s popular.

>oy vet stop kvetching and buy eeeeet, goy that's anudda shoah!

told you niggers 2000 was a scam

>stop kvetching
>kvetching
Is that the word for "closing Oblivion gates?"

The console wars

>Or Djing?! I didn't even know you liked hip-hop!

People from pic 1 will turn into people from pic 2 in a few years

2080 sold last year user.

i paid 329 for my GTX 970 6 years ago, I couldn't
be happier that i skipped the last 2 gens.

Because gamers are childish

Is this the only time waitfags have been right?

Who aren't nowadays?

2080Ti was a 2018 card. Nvidia typically releases new card generations every two years.

Similar to loyalty to sports teams or corporations its just yet another way for people to feel the sense of tribe loyalty and inclusion they yearn for

Only if they release a 50% better GPU for a lower price.

Kids are just retarded. If you tell them not to get a gfx card because it's a shitty time to upgrade and to avoid first gen early adopter cards because they always fuck you over they assume you just don't want them to have fun with their new super cool gfx card instead speaking from 30 years of gfx card bullshittery experience.

>trusting leather jacket man's promises on performance
just gonna wait for some GN videos on performance

>nvidia used retards to fund their R&D by selling them some (at the time) gimmick prototype card
>now they can sell the mass production refined 2070 for $499
thanks for the beta testing, 20xxfags

The same happened when the 900 series launched, and it mopped the floor with the 700 series.

3070*

Me on the right who bought an expensive ass laptop with a 2080ti but my old Asus with a 860m still rocks literally everything I wanted

Brand loyalism is prevalent all across the board now, user. Low IQ brainlets need something to worship to fill their empty lives and in the absence of religion they fill the void with corporations

How was it a scam? The performance is awesome and anyone who bought early could literally sell the card for more than they paid right now.

I made like $300 bucks profit selling my 2080ti a month ago, in addition to writing it off on tax, sold my 1080ti for a profit before that, still have a 2080 super to carry me through to the 3080ti, and again even after the 3000 series hits I'll sell that at cost.

>Bought mine 18 months ago
>Goes for 150 bucks less than what I got it for
Who dude, I lost a WHOLE 150 bucks over 18 months IF I decide to upgrade, that like, more than 5 bucks a month, I know that's a lot for people like you so I apologize.

Can you imagine a 25 year old man arguing with kids on the internet about the "PC master race" defending some companies that don't give two fucks about him? Can you imagine basing your whole identity around a product? Feeling superior to others because you bought a certain product?
What the fuck is wrong with redditors?

>barely faster than a 1080ti
>But includes gimmick nobody supports
>First generation of that gimmick so you know it's gonna be half baked
You could easily kept that 1080ti to carry you to the 3080ti and beyond.
You having luck in selling it to some retard with a mark up doesn't change that.

I bought a 2080 when they dropped.
I got more than enough use out of it that upgrading wouldn't even be a big deal.
But there aren't even any video games to play anymore that aren't console exclusives, so why bother?

>You having luck
>Literally everyone is in the market for the same card.
You are an idiot bro, stop speaking.

WOW ONLY $700
WHAT A BARGAIN!

Not anymore, anybody still sitting on his 20xx after the announcement will have a hard time to resell it.

People need to warrant their purchases by making others feel bad

Just like I said, you think everyone is in the market for the same card which is idiotic.

It's at its worst with video games though. Movie studios rightfully lose money when they fuck up, look at Disney Star Wars.

>New thing better than old thing
>Costs more money
>Can't apply soul/soulless toddler speak because it's hardware and there's literally no way to defend it and being poor
>Proceed to bitch about capitalism.
Every time.

Anyone with a GeForce 4 Ti who didn't buy a GeForce FX had 200IQ

It was also a harder squeeze, but I assume there's some genius out there who went straight from a late model Pentium 3 to a Core 2 Duo

Attached: boomer.jpg (600x360, 30.47K)

The point is the 2000 series were "new thing", cost more money and weren't really better dumbass.

>and weren't really better
Don't worry bro you're not going to buy the 30xx series either.

cuz people tend to buy whats the best, or what they can afford
so intel + nvidia for chads
amd+amd for poors

Yeah that's great and all, when's a new budget series coming out?
I'm not paying more than 400 bucks for a GPU and it's been a year since the 5700 XT.

Attached: 1533418957401.jpg (884x921, 84.14K)

I sometimes ask myself what goes in the mind of the average unironic platform war retard, it's legit low iq stuff.

Attached: hmmm.png (600x800, 268.1K)

>Intel
>Better than AMD
How's 2014, user?

>trusting long haired tech illiterate amd shill monotone talk loud man

OP here, here is one of the retards i am talking about, what kind of upbringing must one person to grow up like this?

>I assume there's some genius out there who went straight from a late model Pentium 3 to a Core 2 Duo
Either that, or they bought an Athlon 64 or Athlon X2, then went back to Intel with Sandy Bridge.
