Ehh Factorio is better

Some tips for a new player would be appreciated. I've got a visitor to my court who is marked as having a useful claim to a couny in the kingdom I want to establish. How are some ways I could make use of that? Marry him to a daughter? Add him to my court? I'm not really sure how to execute on those if I did that.

They are very different games. What makes you compare them? I agree that factorio is brilliant

Is this one more newcomer friendly than 2?

do not buy it, wait until you get it for free, do not buy any dlc

I'll wait for torrent

It basically feels the same.

Apparently if you are in a holy war you can't also have a war with someone else.

Wait two years and then pirate it and all the DLC.

Is there a torrent yet?

I just bought it, how much is in from CK2 and how much is out? I don't mind if some of the shit is gone but if it's like release CK2, Stellaris or EU4 I'll probably refund.

Most of the stuff from CK2 is here but i used to play CK2 with HiP and its now obvious to me how much variety CK3 lacks.
It has some additions like character perks and stress but they feel relatevely minor things, also no secret societies/cults.

it's a paradox game of course it's cracked already

Yes, from my experience. They give you some basic hints about things you might want to be doing at any given time, and the UI makes much more sense. Ultimately it's still as overwhelmingly complicated, but I don't feel like I"m wrestling a spreadsheet.

post your waifu

shiiyit which outfuit is that

Fair enough.

What Muslim, Pagan, Tengri w/e rulers can you play as or is it like vanilla CK2 where everything's locked.

you need to wait a couple years for the dlc before you can really enjoy a paradox game

Secret Societies and Cults was the gayest thing added to CK2

It would be simpler just to make a claim on the land then seize it through war. Trying to grab one claim to a county is not worth the effort, marrying off to people is the sort of thing you do to claim massive amounts of land.

How do I find hot sluts like this? I feel like every woman are just potato faced goblins dressed like nuns in my game.

Way better. While its still an information overload its easier to see and use rather than CK2 which had mechanics and features hidden behind a thousand UI elements.

Paradox said it was half the content of CK2 with all DLC. But the new additions are all great, I dont think I could fault any of the new scheme/war/hooks or anything else. Its a lot more streamlined in a functional way to make it easier to play without detracting from its depth.

Basically its CK2 but better minus some content.

It was a good idea with a mediocre execution

Way more streamlined, better organized, and more clearly explained. Feels better to play imo. I still suck at it though, army creation/management eludes me and I'm always completely out of gold no matter what.

you can change their outfits. Recruit a nun and then force her to be your personal bimbo

>no secret societies/cult

nice, never liked it tbqh

Are you playing in Ireland?

How does marrying off work to claim land though? If I marry a daughter their kids won't be in my dynasty, right?

it's the noble indian 1 outfit

How? I haven't seen such an option anywhere.

>no secret societies/cults
You can make religious heresies though.

>no character creation
Literally unplayable.

That isnt someone else, it looks like you're trying to declare on the same person the holy war is against

It's gonna be a free update apparently. Give it some time.

No, Norway. Irish is my other ancestry though kek

right click her portrait and choose the barbershop icon next to her name

I can live with and expected more cut content, to be honest CK2 is bloated as fuck with mechanics, whilst It's great for variety a lot of them were only ever interesting the first time using them and then tedious or pointless after the fact.

$60?

Well shit. Thanks user, I know what I'm doing with all my daughters next time I get on to play.

Its a bug then, the holy war is for Syria.

I really hate the UI. So far I think CK2 is better, but obvs it has loads of DLC. I feel like overall theres less depth in what was already shallower than it appears.

The streamlining is done in a good direction I think. There were a lot of superfluous retarded features in CK2. UI is trash cancer though, I agree. Nothing that can't be fixed with mods.

CK3 also has tedious mechanics, like picking perks over and over when most of them are worthless, they should have made perks something picked automatically because asking the player to do it will always end up in people going for exploits/the obvious OP route.

>start in Sardinia
>no money and 3 empty council positions and no one to fill them
>unlike CK2, no one wants to join my court so the person finder isn't helpful
>at the cheapest i can get a shitty guest chancellor for 20 gold and still be missing 2 seats
>get jihaded
Ok bad first attempt

>start in Ghana
>demesne is 4 titles too large
>the crown authority doesn't mention anything about giving me a larger demesne so I can't figure out how to increase it
>don't wanna give away more than half my kingdom so i rage quit
Ok 0/2 so far

>king of sweden
>multiple dangerous factions
>so far assassinations seem impossible to do so I'll have to become friends with them all i guess
This is where I'm currently at

$50

I have no idea what happened but Tanistry just exploded my Ireland run. I only control Dubhlinn now lol. Fucking christ I only got 800 soldiers even though own all of Ireland, parts of Wales and Strathclyde.

Am I the only one who never understands the economy mechanics in Paradox games? Struggling to afford anything in this, just like Stellaris, HoI4, and CK2 before it. HOW TO NOT BE CONSTANTLY IN DEBT?!

It's already out

>/vst/

Wait for what? The retards published it without any protection whatsoever. It was uploaded the moment it was published.
I've been playing since then.

if you're playing as a vassal then the march designation is literally free money and troops. you can change to it in your feudal contract without needing a hook

>struggling with stellaris and hoi4
?????????

I think the UI is better in some aspects but it fails to give enough information. You could see the whole line of future inheretances of a certain title so you knew how easy it was to get it via assassination. Not you can only see the next 4 like what. Literally every character portrait is miniscule so i don't even bother to check. But yea some kind of mod will fix this. Councillors are much nicer now though

Vanilla paradox games economy mechanics are piss easy and the tooltips explain everything anyway, Victoria 2 was slightly more involved that that but it was fairly simple to understand too.

In CK2 it was easy. Just go with a steward focus and get an event where you open up a trade route. You'd be earning money for the dynasty for eternity. I have no idea how to make money in CK3

so how bad is the political signalling? devs were saying shit in diaries about not wanting to "frame heterosexuality as the default" and so on so I'm hoping that was just empty words and not having half the characters be bi or something

How the fuck does education work? I have no control whatsoever. I can't even pick the focus of my heir and every single brat becomes a shitty adult with average stats at fucking 10 and diplomacy education instead of martial or stewardship.
This is annoying as shit.

Is it better than CK2 with all DLC?

It feels exactly like CK2

is there a vassal limit in this game?
whats the most optimal way to manage demesne in this game?
one super vasal or many small ones?

no. I'd say mechanics are marginally better but theres no content

>HOW TO NOT BE CONSTANTLY IN DEBT?!

same way people did in the real middle ages:
>exploitation
>plunder
>perpetual accumulation of wealth across generations
Your starting character won't be rich unless you're really lucky. But the inbred spawn of your 500-year dynasty will have more money than they know what to do with.

In CK2 you earned money by having a high stewardship + high demesne + constantly upgrading your holdings + Vassals (Always try to appoint a merchant republic). In CK3 I have no fucking clue. Try to maximise your demesne amount and build it full with buildings that generate money. Right now I'm getting +10 a month for just being king of Wales

>unlike CK2, no one wants to join my court so the person finder isn't helpful
This is a stupid change, I'm with you. The only way you can get councillors is through the find physician and find knights decisions, and through guests that randomly show up at your court. It means you can't fill an empty spot on demand.
>the crown authority doesn't mention anything about giving me a larger demesne
Looks like demense size (called domain now) is tied to culture/technology. Go to your culture tab and focus on the tech that increases domain.
>so far assassinations seem impossible to do
You need to have high intrigue. Educate your heir in intrigue and cross your fingers he gets a good roll on it, choose the intrigue focus for yourself, and also under the council menu you can choose to add your wife's intrigue to your own. Other than that making friends might be a good idea, you can pull your friends into plots with you to increase your success chance.

no its just a map painter with small roleplaying elements so far

You want content goy? Buy the DLC we will start releasing next week.

I'm a noob but I go for a super vassal if I love the guy and his stats. Or if he is an incel and doesn't have any kids. If that's not an option I go for several weak vassals

Succession laws are dependent on your general culture progress so you're fucked.
You're essentially stuck at gavelkind for centuries.

Based thanks

You don't notice the sexuality of characters at all. You can imprison gays for sodomy just fine. Although I do like the addition of bisexual character, makes me wanna go for a Greece run

They probably put the chances of being non-hetero fairly high, i never check the sexuality of the characters but when i did i saw this, i don't know if its a coincidence or not.

No because there's barely any playable factions. Hope you didn't want to play as anyone East or South of Italy/Germany. There is one option to play as Russian and one option to play as a blatantly Mongolian "Hungarian", but otherwise it's all Britain, France, Spain, and Scandinavia.

can you change succession laws by reforming your religion like in ck2?

>Educate your heir in intrigue
How? They pick their own education.

Where can i pirate it? Asking for a friend.

my purchase hinges on being able to restore Rome without the need for DLC

Attached: 867-1453 haestening.png (1920x1080, 3.07M)

>It means you can't fill an empty spot on demand.
this is good though, isn't it? If you eat all of your vassals you can't just find more on ye olde indeed.com

>completely at the mercy of RNG in hopes your cultural leader chooses the good tech
how could they possibly think this was a good idea. I don't even really give a shit about metagaming but a lot of shit like buildings, domain size, and non-shit succession laws are locked behind innovations.

Right click your child and choose 'select educator' and select yourself as their ward. Once they reach a certain age you can choose to instruct them in a certain area. They will get a randomly generated trait that sways them toward a particular education though.

No idea but I doubt it. It's stuck on generic culture progress and starting at 867 is annoying as shit.
I'm the Duke of Tuscany, Spoletto and Pisa and every fucking time I lose most of my titles to randoms and have to war them back.
Unplayable as a vassal big duke. Have to become a king or I'll be stuck conquering the same fucking duchies for centuries.

>he isn't his own cultural leader
Yikes.
