This game frustrates me to no end. On the other hand, I absolutely love the movement dynamics, the evolution system, the world itself and exploring, and the overall underlying concept, yet at the same time, the game has such clear flaws and missing elements that playing it just frustrates me.
The most glaring of these flaws is the total lack of proper outside pressures on your tribe, be it from scarcity of resources, actually dangerous predators, and most importantly OTHER tribes of apes. As it stands, there is basically zero reason to ever go out of the jungles and explore the map outside of sheer curiosity of the player.
The lack of other ape tribes is something I am utterly baffled by, and have yet to find any explanation to why the devs decided to make your ape tribe the sole monkeys in the game. Territory disputes between apes is a big part of their behavior, and the lack of them just makes the game world feel utterly empty.
All in all, the above flaws basically mean that once you have figured out the intentionally obscure ways of how the game mechanics work (and unlocked the few that are behind evolution leaps), the whole gameworld becomes your oyster and you face basically zero challenges from the game which ends up making the whole experience dull.
In short, this game could have been a fucking masterpiece, and it has a good idea at it's core, but for some reason the devs failed to implement vital elements that would make the game actually engaging to play in the long term.
Thanks for reading my blog.
WHAT IS THE TITLE OF THIS GAME? I have seen this thread dozens of times over the past few days and have not seen a single person say what the game actually is

REJEKT MONKE
EMBRACE HOMO
OUHH OUHH AAHH AHH
Jesus christ those are strong leaves.
The climbing and moving in this game feels so fucking good.
It is such a shame that there is no real reason to explore the world at all.
Like I said here, it is a flawed gem
The game is fun for monkeying around but the mobility snaps around like a retard.
I remember being stuck at a slab of stone for 10 seconds straight because monke kept grabbing the ledge and constantly sliding off into a random direction.
The environment could use some work as well, the lighting looks pretty messy.
>game stops before you turn into hairless human
Imagine the smell
>the game doesn't feature monke on monke violence
Play GTASA if you want that
Ape not hurt ape
Every day until you like it
>what is max payne 3
That game doesn't feature swinging on trees
Honestly, fucking imagine if Ancestors had had the nemesis system from the Shadow of Mordor games or something like that?
Fighting rival ape clans in the treetops and shit would have been fucking amazing.
Also, vidya adaptation of the Planet of the Apes reboot trilogy with the climbing mechanics of this game when?
Do you think this game's getting dlc? I was hoping they'd add more species, maybe make the social aspect more detailed, like adding a nemesis system that you speak of
What the fuck? Just how strong monkes are?
Apes are violent animals. Chimps premeditate murder and they stalk in gangs. Macaques are hated because of them being downright assholes. Baboons are huge dicks as well and male gorillas kill each other over domination of the troop
Apes often do hurt other apes and the evolution of humans was most likely full of violence.
Why do you think that we are the only human species around anymore, when we know for a fact that 300 000 years ago there were at least 9 other human species around?
Imagine wrestling with a small dog. That's how you would be to a monke.
Ecce Homo: Behold, a Homo.
I fucking hope it will get DLC but I doubt it. There has bee no news from the devs and seems like they intentionally chose to not feature hominid on hominid violence for some fucking reason.
I don't know how I forget to mention humans but our entire fossil record is full of our ancestors murdering one another with stone weapons until we kept advancing our killing tools that we can wipe out an entire population nowadays.

Oh no no no trump bros! I thought we won and science was discredited?!
It was, nobody on here believe in climate change, witness the replies I will receive.
This game led me to watching the planet of the apes trilogy for the first time and I gotta say that those films were honestly pretty fucking kino.
I prefer the new movies over the old
Good bait but everyone knows that the climate has been changing since Earth began. How do you think the Carboniferous Rainforest Collapse happened? Our planet is not immune to facing near extinction level events and there's good proof we were survived one at the end of the Pleistocene
Aren’t they completely different?
Fuck off to Zig Forums faggot, this is a monke thread.
Is this The Phantom Pain?
Yes, older ones are set in the far future where apes have risen up, new ones are current time/near future where the apes are rising up
Same here.
I remember seeing the old ones as a kid and finding the concept too goofy to take the new ones seriously at all (which is why I wasn't interested them when they initially came out).
coconut :-)
monke...oh no monkeybros
because he monky
looking this game up and it seems like it has almost too many mechanics and systems. would you say thats true? i kind of just want to play a game where im a monkey and going around a jungle
