Let's have a thread about those obscure FPS from the 2000s decade.
Any of you have any gems you wanna bring up?
Here's my example.
It's pretty much an RPG with FPS elements - It also has a cool faction system.

does project igi count as obscure? never was a big fps guy but this one i played the shit out of growing up for some reason
Fuck user, I loved that game. Should I replay it now or is it way jankier than I remember?
Technically 1999, but it was well ahead of the tech curve. The game had bullet time before Max Payne made it famous. It also had a severe case of 90's level design.
Nosferatu was an FPS with roguelike elements to it
Nitro Family was probably the only time th Serious Sam engine ever got licensed
yes i'd say it's obscure
i've rarely seen it be discussed here
how about obscure eastern european (I think) jank
How have I never heard of this?
Is it any good?
I can't remember the name of a janky sci-fi fps rpg from 2000 something I played when I was younger. Looked similar to system shock and deus ex.
You're probably thinking of Project Snowblind. It was going to be a Deux Ex spinoff until it wasn't. Still has references all over the game.
Honestly haven't played it. Not sure many did. It was made by a Korean dev with a very limited release to above average but not great reviews.
igi 2
It's Jewel with a gun. Who am I kidding? The game was trash
What does IGI stand for?
Gore was a solid campaign and pretty fun multiplayer for an obscure company trying to break into the engine market. Attempts to revive 4D Rulers and its engine have gone nowhere.
Man I had a lot of fun, it was one of the best Activision Value games, but apparently the developer only one more game or just this one and closed down/was acquired.
Really good user.
Chaser was a surprisingly long game for what was essentially a budget stealth release.
INB4: Every eastern europe developed FPS until Stalker, anything before it was total shit that had a good graphics.
SiN Episodes was the toe dip in the water for episodic gaming. It was pirated so badly that nobody made the attempt for years. The five people that bought it got Source engine ports of the original game and its expansion
it's literally written on the cover
I had my fun with it.
That would spell ILWotC though.
The later levels were drag out, no fun allowed slogs with tons of rocket spam and snipers. Was glad when it was finally over
R.I.P
David Duchovny turns out another comically flat performance as the lead role in a bretty decent shooter
>Source engine ports of the original game
user, SiN: Source (as in the thing similar to Half-Life: Source) was a canceled project.
You just got SiN Gold if you bought Episodes.
When I was in college I was obsessed with the 360. Still am really. Every couple of weeks we'd rent a new game, going for the absolute trash.
If you love bad FPS this is an essential.
Call of Cthulu was the definition of jank with its wildly uneven game play and tormented development cycle.
>kill enemy
>their corpse disappears after 1 (one) second
I'll be honest and say Dreamkiller wasn't very good, but a lot better than most of the Painkiller expansions.
An entire thread to give Civvie content.
Timeshift never lived up to its potential. It had some ideas but was otherwise a bland yet troubled shooter
It had a surprisingly high profile release despite being a mess outside of the engine. Even Ars Technica made an attempt to give it an even handed review
>the most advanced real-time facial animation of its time
>the only game the company ever made before turning into a licensed product factory
>reasonably decent voice acting for the time
>it was still shit
