I doubt this is even playable. Paradox hasn't made a game worth playing at launch for as long as I remember. Imperator was a trashfire, HoI4 had such an archaic and useless interface it was damn near unplayable until several expansions in, EU4 was EU3 in mandatory spectator mode 90% of the time, and Vicky 2 had yellow Prussia.

i dont understand the point of these "games" it's literally just watching numbers go up and down and a border expand. you have to be a gigantic larping autist to dig any sense of enjoyment out of a paradox game. There is no gameplay. There is no game.

Its mindless easy. Most of the games can be set up to auto play themselves. These games look deep but aren't.

Not sure what you mean boardgamey. The older ones like EU1 were literally based on board games, but the later ones are nothing like that at all, you could never do all those calculations on the fly in a boardgame (and sometimes not on a computer either, HoI4 used to choke itself to death around 1941 in ironman, and still can't manage all the way to 1945 without lagging at least a bit.)

Also, Crusader Kings isn't grand strategy. It's more of a dynasty simulator. The focus is on shit like getting married, having kids, murdering people, having an affair with your son's wife and then trying to pass the offspring off as his, marrying your sister, playing an inbred bastard daughter because your king died without a good heir and having your entire realm instantly revolt against you. CK2 isn't that hard to get into. No idea about CK3 yet.

Border gore isn't a nitpick. In reality, having random provinces all over the place is a huge problem, because it's going to be really difficult to control and defend. Since power projection is the most fundamental aspect of ruling a country, if this comes across as totally unrealistic just from looking at the map, that's a problem.
