Doom: Eternal at 4k with 3080

Doom: Eternal running at 4k resolution at more than 120 fps at max settings. Seems 4k is not a meme anymore on PC.

Will I be able to play 7th gen games at 8K60FPS like Mass Effect?

Ehm, I get 130fps 4k on a 2080ti. Shouldnt it blow my 2080ti out of the water? Look up benchmarks, I'm not lying

Look at the video. It's compared with the 2080ti

Ah, gotcha I'm at work, so cant watch

Well it's around 35 to 50 procent faster it seems. Not bad for 500 bucks less.

>at more than 120 fps
it dips to 100 in combat multiple times, 4k+120fps is still a meme

yes

Yeah, in the video during non-heavy shooting sections the 2080Ti does about 120 at most while 3080 is doing 189 at its peak during the video. They sadly don't show the different between the 2080ti and the 3080 during actual intensive gameplay but the 3080 is doing 120 and above with few dips to 100. So, I can only assume that a 2080ti is doing 70-80fps during a section like that.

It would be a 30 to 45% boost which is consistent with the 3080 being a 75% performance boost over the regular 2080.

I don't see any difference

youtube doesn't allow framerates higher than 60 so you really just go by the numbers

You aren't suppose to see a difference. Nvidia is showcasing the FPS difference.

not really, just tune it down from max settings.
if you want max settings I guess you're going to have to suffer with 4k 100 fps or whatever

>tfw 3440x1440p
>will be able to play at a stable 144hz w/RTX

max settings in doom is kinda pointless. But then again fps increases like 8 fps from lowest to highest or something.

>mfw second hand market already flooded with 2080ti starting at $450

4K will always be a meme for gaming on a 27-inch monitor. Anything above 1440p is placebo that you'll never notice when actually playing the game

>But then again fps increases like 8 fps from lowest to highest or something.
I fucking hate that shit. Engines barely scale at all nowadays.

it scales great, he's just cpu limited.

just upgrade goy

>tfw still 1080p
is 1440p and upwards really that good

Is a 3700x already outdated? That siad Doom isnt cpu intensive at all. Which is why they are showing this specific benchmark because the GPU can go all out.

1440 144 on a 27 inch monitor feels just right.

2560x1440 ? Yeah, as long as it's also 144hz.
Do yourself a favor and put a $100 more to get an ultrawide though.

I mean, if the 3070 is higher end or hell, even the same level as the 2080Ti at only 500 dollars that's a pretty big selling point for getting in to 4k gaming on PC. Even if 4k is still a meme, these numbers that we're seeing just means that 1440p will be the standard this gen since you'll be able to get high framerates, paired up with a high refresh monitor and you'll never look back at 1080p. So it all depends now, before I might have laughed at someone getting 4k but it doesn't seem that you need to move out of your way financially to get in to it.

I legitimately don't see a difference between any of these settings and I sure as shit wouldn't when the game is moving at the fast pace that it does.

>Even if 4k is still a meme
It will always be a meme until humans evolve with better eyesight. Same with 240hz

>tfw I got a 1440p 59hz monitor 2 years ago because I never thought I'd have a computer good enough to utilize anything over 60fps
>now looking at the 3070 card
fuck.

what else do you need?

I only have 16GB of RAM and a Ryzen 5 3600

2080TI BROS HODL

Do you have multiple monitors ? If not you can just save up and buy a 1440p 144hz as a main. It will be odd having a 60hz next to it but it's better than nothing.

wrong

>tfw been using the same 22" 1080p/60fps monitor since 2012
Is it worth upgrading to 1440p? I don't give a fuck about going beyond 60fps though, seems needless to me.

Get a 3070 + 1440p 144 hz monitor and cream your pants.

If you dont care about frames then just go for 4K

I don't have to save up to get one, I already have the money to do so, but it feels ridiculously wasteful when I just got this one. I can't justify having 2 fucking 1440p screens, nothing I do requires that.
>odd having 60hz next to it
why? not like I'd game on it, in terms of regular browsing and video they would be just fine together, wouldn't they?

Whatever you say. Keep on watching those youtube comparison videos and telling me you'll notice those details when actually playing

I think windows fucks up with multi refresh desktops, might be fixed tho

woah impressive, you're telling me a $1500 GPU can run a game I can run on ultra with a GTX 1080 and i5 2500K?
yep I'm thinking I'm buying this one

yeah the increased AA is noticeable right away

Not windows, but Nvidia cards are retarded and clock very high when using different refresh rates on monitors

That's the 3090, user. The one in the video is the 3080 that's $700. Also, if you still want to be running a 1080 at 1080p that you've been using for at least 3 years now, then that's on you brother. Its safe to upgrade now, user. Its safe.
