The Elder Scrolls

Are they the most unique fantasy dwarfs?

Attached: dwemer.jpg (1600x1134, 199.06K)

Dwemer are not dwarfs, they're just high tech elves.

Those aren't Dwarfs. Calling Humans Dwarfs wouldn't make them Dwarfs either.

>dwarfs

They are though. They just don't follow the universal Dwarf tropes and are a completely unique race.

>The races of Mer use the term "Dwemer", which translates to "Deep-Elves"[2] or "Deep Folk".[4][5] Men commonly refer to them as Dwarves
They are called dwarves more often than dwemer in both morrowind and oblivion.

Gib dwemer milkers.

They got the beard for it.

Yes. By far. Skyrim did some good things as well with their Dwemer and Falmer focus.

>AltMER
>DunMER
>DweMER
>clearly these are a different race!

Are you stupid?

Redguards...

All elder scrolls races are pretty unique. Argonians and khajiit are beast races done right, since they actually have some weird biology and culture instead of the usual fantasy trope of "real-life culture but they are anthropomorphic animals"

This.
Here is a Khajiit family for example. The cat on that female Khajiit's arms could very well be the father of the larger one.

If I make a race of talking Cats and call them Dwarfs, that does not make them Dwarfs. You don't understand the Elder Scrolls setting, the Dunmer are Elves. The Orcs are too.(Orsimer)

Slug....

According to /tg/ those would be dwarfs and it would be brave and stunning.

What about them?

Are fucking based. I'm going to cosplay as one when cons are a thing again.

They gave Redguards Dogu helmets? That is pretty dope.

Falmer were the most interesting part of Skyrim to me

What the fuck was his problem?

Definitely.
Learning about the Dwemer in Skyrim is what got me interested in the lore.
Such a fascinating concept.

i think it's tamriel rebuilt concept art

Did Skyrim have any Dwemer statues depicting how they look? I recall Morrowind did but dont remember seeing any outside of faceplates on robots.

Elves were(and still are) the problem.

pelinal doesn't care about khajiit.

I'd have to say no. Despite being called dwarves by men they're really just short elves, hence the name DweMER. They're even descendants of the Aldmer.

>pelinal doesn't care about khajiit.

Dagoth Ur is the most interesting villain in TES.

The Tribunal did nothing wrong, Azura is just a bitch.

He thought they were elves (which technically isn't wrong) and killed a bunch of them. Hell it took a dragon break just to make him stop.

Even more so when you understand he was an insane hermit with god-like powers LARPing as the Dwemer

Truth.

>"Hey how can we make new and original dwarfs?"
>"Just make them nothing like dwarfs, in fact just make more elfs"

they aren't even short though. the only thing they have common with bull crap fantasy dwarfs is that they lived underground.

Skyrim and Oblivion had the world eater and Mehrunes fucking Dagon as the vilains and Morrowind had just some dude. Morrowind's main story lacks any impact because the conflict was centralized and the stakes were low.

They never wanted to make dwarves.

They clearly coded as such being pretty much the only mer that lived underground originally.

>Morrowind's main story lacks any impact because the conflict was centralized and the stakes were low.
I respectfully disagree. Morrowind's story is impactful because it is more centralized, making full use of its characters, local mythology and different points of view tied to a much bigger picture (the veritable heart of the world as a central part of the game story.) Contrast to Alduin who is just Akatosh in his emo phase issues and Dagon is just a brute throwing a temper tantrum.
