How do you like the Di/ss/gaea series?
How do you like the Di/ss/gaea series?
It's alright if you want a time waster between games.
Amazing, gets better every installment.
Should I skip 1? I just beat episode 9 and it's starting to annoy me, just the little things.
>time waster inbetween time waster
If you see every game as a time waster why do you even bother with them?
1 is the only great one.
2 is pretty damn good.
3 is mediocre.
4 is a step in the right direction.
D2 is what the fuck are you doing, see me after class
5 is mediocre.
>replying to a frogposter
Level 9999 troll post.
Completing this thought, I would say play only D1 and D2, then play La Pucelle, Phantom Brave, ZHP, Makai Kingdom, and Soul Nomad, then be done with NiSA.
It's definitely aged poorly compared to everything after.
I love it but Phantom Brave is better.
I don't.
It's trash.
It's full of edgy hardcore lol-so-randum humor from the early 2000s.
The battle system is trash and relies on grinding upon grinding upon grinding.
The leveling system is trash and relies on grinding and dropping back to level 1 and grinding and dropping back to level 1.
I don't say this very often, but the game is absolutely completely and totally an autistic persons wet dream.
Also, tactical RPGs that work where your team attacks then the enemy team attacks then your team attacks etc. are trash. The ones that go off some sort of Speed stat, ala FFT, are objectively superior
kek excellent pasta, is this from reddit?
>and relies on grinding upon grinding upon grinding.
The grinding is literally optional retard.
Sure, and by about the time you reach the 5th world, regardless of which game you're playing, you're going to get your ass completely and totally stomped if you haven't been grinding.
Because that's how these games work.
You're supposed to take time out from doing the story to grind out the item world bullshit and to grind more levels and more whatever-the-fuck-it's-called when you rebirth units to level 1.
I've played them. Tried 1, tried 2, 3, and 5. Every single one operates the same way. First world is a joke, second-fourth worlds are fairly easy, fifth world starts to become impossible about halfway through unless you're grinding.
>reincarnation
>main story
user-kun, is it possible you suck at games fufufu~
>final fantasy tactics
Tried it, didn't like.
>reincarnating before the postgame
Holy fucking shit you're terrible
>tfw i have to grind up to 9999 100 times before i can even face the first prinny
I'm on the grind using reincarnation to beat the carnage dimension.
Honestly I'm getting tired of it but the game keeps delivering content that I'm more impressed and resolved to finally finish it, maybe even get 100%.
What one has the best mechanics? I want to really delve into one and spend tons of time there.
you reincarnated main story? why?
it only takes lv 100 to beat them, even then you should have explored the item world at least once or twice and taken advantage of innocents by using squads.
oh god i bet you fucking ignored the best squads for something like using all the capture squad slots and eviltiy growth skills. did you even play the chara world more than 3 times?
Is playing a game NG+ a "grind" for you because it sounds like you just don't like the game because you don't want to understand Geo Panels.
Dunno about best but DD2 and D5 have the most to offer, later games reuse previous ones anyway.
DD2 Monster mounting
D5 revenge mode, overloads
>oh god i bet you fucking ignored the best squads for something like using all the capture squad slots and eviltiy growth skills. did you even play the chara world more than 3 times?
I literally have no idea what any of that means. Because I'm not a turbo autist that spends 60000 hours playing Disgaea games making the perfect teams.
Translation: I played 3 maps and refused to engage with the game so it's bad
D1 for charcaters
D5 for content
Port D4+ to PC already
Was Disgaea 1 on steam ever patched to let you skip battle animations? I know the Switch version had it, but back when D1 first released on Steam, it did not have the ability, and I was super bummed.
Translation: I got to about the 5th world on 4 of the games and gave up because the game is shit.
Combat is trash, story is trash, character building is trash, animations are trash, characters are trash. What exactly is 'good' about these games?
They're objectively inferior to even Fire Emblem, and that's the second worst TRPG series of all time. ya know what that makes Disgaea?
the worst
1 with 5's QoL stuff would be the best game
Doubt it, would've been a blog post or something if it did.
Underage or retarded, maybe both
whats wrong with D2 apart from setting your PS3 on fire?
Been playing Disgaea PC, you can indeed turn off enemy and ally cinematics, all attacks are portrayed as a basic attack.
I love it, I started with Dis 5 and 130hr in I have 5 20 mil stat characters, time to start looking for some god gear I suppose.
Nice, do they still do the punch animation or the basic attack with whatever weapon they have?
Yeah that's what I meant to say.
>Underage or retarded, maybe both
You're right, you'd have to be underage or retarded, maybe both, to actually enjoy Disgaea and it's sequels. Thanks for clarifying.
Flanderization of the entire D1 cast. A majority of the game spent with Laharal as a female. I really dislike seeing the great cast with shitty redesigns and writing that feels like it was handled by a C-Team.
>the people telling you games are bad are people so awful at them they reincarnate on world 4
