Like ever? I used to love them before the Wii era, but it seems like consistently they've been being pushed around by better game companies like Sony and Microsoft for decades. Whereas Playstation gets out exclusive after exclusive Nintendo almost gets nothing of value. Especially considering Nintendo's desperate recent attempts at releasing half assed games and ignoring fan demand with examples like any recent Paper Mario, Pokemon, or lazy "revivals" like Star Fox Zero.
Some of the most critically games of all time are on every console as well as PC except for Nintendo. For example Sekiro which won GOTY and is available on all of them except for Switch.
It doesn't exactly help that their fans are universally weird manchildren and soccer moms.
Nintendo has put out well regarded game recently like mario odyssey botw and nu fire emblem. They have their niche and make money so I doubt they're losing much sleep over anything

Biggest issue with Nintendo is the only reason they have exclusives is because they sell their consoles at a profit which means they have an incentive to hook in PC fats, whereas Sony and Microsoft sell at a loss, and so there's no incentive to hook in PC fats. If you mean partial/console exclusives then mayber. I don't think Nintendo is worse than Sony or Microsoft, just that they arren't THAT much better to warrant worship.

What I dislike about the DS is that it only needed a drawpad, the dual screens cut its graphics/processing power in half, it's clear they were making it extra unnecessarily gimmicky so they could completely shut competitors out of the market by making a console nobody could imitate, thus securing a monopoly on handhelds.

Nintendo has no competition among handhelds because Sony killed themselves trying to complete, but in terms of raw market share/sales/culteral impact then yes, the DS and the 3DS were absolute phenomenon's that still to this day drove a lot of profits and attention for Nintendo.
