It's not even the same people. Guinsoo formed riot games to remake Dota (and used c++ because he's nuts). Tencent bought Riot games. Guinsoo left in 2016ish.
Current riot had nothing to do with creating league of legends, all they've done is expand on someone else's ideas.

Not him but there are a lot of problems with the way the game is being handled.
On Java, they refuse to do an update cycle to focus on multithreading or just do a large optimization wave in general. The game is becoming extremely resource intensive and is about to hit a point where the majority of Java players won't be able to hit a stable 60fps with medium settings.
Bedrock is actually really well optimized, but is completely fucked in terms of modding API development, and Mojang/Microsoft have no intebtions on supporting modding in general
