Nice I was waiting for another one of these threads. Can you guys explain to someone who's never played an RPGmaker game why they all seem to look so shitty and lacking in cohesive artstyles? Surely it must be an engine limitation and not every RPGmaker dev just being bad at tile artwork

It's all up to how much effort the dev puts into the visuals, there are no boundaries. Some devs mix in default RTP tiles/objects etc. together with custom assets, some do everything from scratch like pic.
I don't hate the RTP approach at all, there are great games that use mostly standard assets. Vampires Dawn for example

Pretty much just checked my RPGMaker games folder and check what was there. I always just delete shit I don't like, mostly from RPGMaker.net and many of vgperson's translated shit.

Yeah it all depends on how much effort the creator puts into the graphics. Some people wanna make games but aren't artists. However Rpgmaker actually allows for a lot of stuff if you use it wisely.

I don't really keep track where I have everything. Some games are stuffed into the an external HDD. Some are scattered around download folders. Some are in the Steam folder. Others are put into the easyrpg folder. Keeping things organized is simply not for me.
