How the FUCK do you play this guy without getting all your shit blown up?

How the FUCK do you play this guy without getting all your shit blown up?

you don't
but instead of dwelling on it you learn from what happened and rebuild

I mean blowing up his shit is the objective of the game.

You should instead be learning where to place buildings and how to quickly rebuild.

Or you could just use the wranlger and tank 66% of damage for free.

*snort*

widowmaker, aimbot, crit hack

You just get that thing for the turret that lets you point and shoot with it.
Then just stand behind the shield

Haven’t played in a while tho but I was pro

Sentry placement is key. Place it where it will catch enemies by surprise, and use the short circuit to eliminate projectiles.

Spam mini sentries everywhere since apparently everyone can't deal with them and hates them

You use more gun.

>short circuit
you use wrangler to defend

wrangler can't help you when a demo/soldier are shooting from around the corner where your sentry can't reach them. or if a demo is laying down stickies. that's where the short circuit comes in

This. Part of being engie is never getting too attached to your nest. It's better to move spots every now and then to keep them on their toes anyways.

Unironically this.
Place mini sentries on flanks and behind doors.
Use the gun that gives you crits for sentry kills.
Play offensively.
Believe it or not, Engy's best weapon is the teleporter.
The side who can get to the front line fastest wins

In all honesty you can't, your sentry is more of a deterrent against flanks than something that gets a lot of kills, and when an uber comes in you should just accept your sentries death and maybe switch class

Playing Engie is like being a father during the 1920's
>beat them to make them work harder
>don't get too attached so when they explode them you can just make more

Learn where the front line is, and build slightly behind it. Do it wherever you have enough support to survive long enough to reach at least level 2.

Watch Uncle Dane

Then I guess playing gunslinger engie is like playing an Irish father in the 1920s?

Make teleports slightly behind the front line. The sentry exists to make it difficult for enemies to kill your teles.

Take the mini sentry pill and frontier justice the fuck out of the enemy team

equip the jag and rescue ranger.
It doesnt matter if your shit gets destroyed when you can just make the shit again really fast.

Your shit will always get blown up but you can minimize it by moving your sentry to a new, unexpected spot every few kills if it is safe to do so. This works best if the new position has vision on the route the enemy will take to try to take out your sentry from a safe spot. You will catch them while they're vulnerable and surprised which translates to constant free kills as long as you can rotate between nice sentry spots.

>Me == some engi
>Me == Sentry gun (some engi)
>Me == Dispenser (some engi)
>Me == Teleporter (some engi)
>some engi has left the server (disconnected by user)

>Me 8====D (You)

>wrangler
>short circuit
real engineers only need a widowmaker and a pistol to rip the enemy team a new asshole
the sentry only exists to protect the teleporter and dispenser when you're away

>real engineers only need a widowmaker and a pistol to rip the enemy team a new asshole
Just play scout tard.

engineer must die

>13 years later
>animations for melee still don't sync up with its actual range AND hit timing
Fuck whips and fuck swords.

Someone explain why people complain about mini sentry. It dies in two shots and barely does damage, while normal sentry can kill you in 1 second and makes some games unnecessarily long

It's a bit of a tradition. It used to be fucking broken, it healed so fast during construction that it could tank just about anything until it's ready. Engi pressing his 'build 2 0' bind once meant you were guaranteed to get hit a few times unless you just leave.

new players die to mini sentries constantly.

shitters.
Its severely underpowered actually.
pretty sure the jag even constructs sentries faster.
The only upside of minis is that you can place 2 without needing to grab metal.
