I finished the mall center. Only took me 1 hour. I remember the first maze level in SH2 took me more. Enemies are harder tho, I stopped killing everything, unlike in SH2. Also I apreciate the MC have actually a personality, James was too much bland

Hope you've played SH1 already.
Otherwise, you're ruining both of these games.
>Hope you've played SH1 already.
I didn’t played it, but I want to after finishing 3 or 4
>I didn’t played it,
STOP.
Seriously, fucking stop playing SH3 right now, and go PROPERLY finish SH1.
This is CRUCIAL. I am not joking here.
Retard.
If you're playing SH3 without playing the original, it's kind of like watching Empire Strikes Back without having watched A New Hope.
Like, sure, you're playing/watching the better one...but you're going to have no context for what's going on.
but i spent all my money to buy SH3. i don’t have enough to buy SH1

Mount the ISOs of 2 & 3, and then run their installers like always.
DON'T use W10's own virtual disc app! It will not work.
Don't install under C:\Program Files\ ! This will cause issues.
The "Enhanced .EXE" is also the no-CD crack!
The SH1 is a PS1 rip that you gotta emulate using ePSXe or PCSX-R.
Follow the SH2 widescreen fix site's instructions to the T, and you should be fine.
For 3 & 4, check the Guide.
>Protips
-Play in the release order.
-Never play below Normal difficulty! Especially in case of #2!
-Replaying them all is recommended; tons of replay value.
-Turn down the ingame Brightness setting, for better gamma & colors!
-Don't try to kill everything that moves, especially outdoors. Leg it, or sneak!
-Turning OFF the flashlight can really help w/ stealth!
>ISHYGDDT
Also I , used for 2, 3, 4 not for 1 though, SH1 i prefer using Retroarch with some of the fixes contained in the SH1 from the guide.
>changed the difficulty to easy after 2 hours cuz I accidentally died two times in a row
>didn't even notice it before finishing the game
ok that made me mad as fuck
this is painful.
>Mary... where the fuck are you?
This always gets me
I hate SH 3 that's all
is she a virgin
>I gotta get the fuck outta this damn town!!!
FYI, Silent Hill HD collection is a fine way to play 2 and 3. Even the 360 version is good. Only fags complain about fog and other gay shit.
>original devs are now "fags"
okay, Gen-A.
why?
>>original devs are now "fags"
having in mind that they worked for shitnami, they kinda were. Jokes aside even if some people think HD collection isn’t that bad i think is better spending a little more of money just to play the ps2 releases
Don't you love that Heather reacts the same way a normal person would to all the situations? It always made me angry how main characters didn't react at all to some stuff or just didn't get pissed off by the other characters not making any sense.
These games are so fucking short, I've been trying to play them for 15 years now (no kidding) and I still can't finish any of them because I'm too much of a pussy. How do I fight the fear?
Making jokes after seeing Leonard and just going "that's weird" after the nightmare shift is certainly not how a normal person would react.
Story is choppy and felt like a corridor simulator.
>they're too short
>i've never actually finished one due to being a pussy, so i can't accurately speak on its length
>the internet doesn't exist
>it's impossible to get information of a game's length without playing from start to finish yourself
why did you post this
This is what Silent Hill 2 HD should have been
>How do I fight the fear
You don't. You embrace it, and rejoice the fact that you're not some emotioneless online tuff-guy.
For starters, each of the original 4 games can easily last you a good week on the first playthrough, unless you literally marathon them.
Second, their replay-value is off the roof.
It's just fucking bizarre that you would open with "they're too short" they're not, they're the perfect length for this sort of game, only to transition into "how do I overcome my fear?"
I beat silent hill 2 in 3.5 hours. they're criminally short and rely on the player being retarded
It's intended to be more of an experience than a proper game. If you were dissatisfied with your content:price ratio, you could've always gone for the multiple endings.
Every single SH game took me a good 6-8 hours, average, on my first playthroughs.
I have since replayed each of the OG trilogy's games dozens of times. Literally.
I am simply glad that none of the campaigns overstay their welcome, and instead provide quality content throughout the experience. And said experience is still gold after those numerous re-runs.
Sounds about right. I recently ran through SH2 Enhanced and took about 4.5 hours. I did have prior knowledge but I'm talking when the game originally released on PS2 so I didn't remember fuck all. Tried treating it like a typical survival horror hoarding bullets and ended up with like 100+ handgun/shotgun and roughly 40 rifle by the end game.
Almost all traditional horror survival games are actually very short. Take resident evil as well. With even a cursory knowledge of any of the games they can be beaten increadbly quickly.
