Being way cheaper than the PS5. At least 100 dollars difference between Series S and PS5 Digital Version. It's the only way. Microsoft knows that it can't beat Sony on exclusives, so they have to offer value. It's what Sony itself did with the PS2 when it launched.

It already happened. Game Pass is set to take over the world. It's going on Samsung phones and televisions. It's going to hit billions of people and they'll stream xbox games wherever they want. Everyone is focusing on consoles but the Series X is just a cheap gaming pc. The install size is growing by the day and it'll be massive in a few years.

I don't know any of my casual co-workers or friends that are looking towards the PS5.
The SeX looks a lot better spec wise to them because of the teraflop meme, and the game pass shilling basically has them sold.
Both consoles have absolute trash for launch exclusives so it's literally just which is a bigger bang for your buck. For most people I guess that would be the SeX, assuming the price point isn't like $600+

There's nothing to stop the series x from being the ps4 then. If it will be the first console for people it doesn't matter. If microsoft can sell the game pass to parents correctly then it'll be the console that's bought purely because of how good of a deal game pass is. Just think "what I can get my kid hundreds of games for less than the price of one regular game, okay"

How dare people discuss video game consoles on a video game thread

-Stop relying on the same fucking franchises that they've been using for close to twenty years to continue carrying the console. They have a shit ton of old franchises that haven't had a game since the OG Xbox and bringing them back with a new entry would excite fans.
-They seem to be doing this already, but trying to make new games and franchises also helps with this issue. How well this succeeds is anyone's guess though.
-Get more third-party publishers to get console exclusives and not just some dinky-ass side project either but a full AAA release that will turn heads. This will probably be the hardest thing to pull off since many publishers don't go full console exclusive anymore since there's more money to be made going multiplat.
