>With over 25 years of experience to his name, Dylan Jobe has been appointed the role of director of development at Retro Studios, the studio behind the eagerly awaited Metroid Prime 4. Jobe has worked on titles such as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered, DOOM and Twisted Metal: Black and his role within the studio is focused on handling Metroid Prime 4’s schedule, product quality and scope according to a job description. Jobe also worked on Warhawk which was a PlayStation 3 exclusive title that released in 2007.
Retro Studios has hired Dylan Jobe (DOOM/Call of Duty: MW) as director of development

I just hope it's not "open world"
>Jobe also worked on Warhawk
Warhawk was fun as fuck so now I'm interested
so after years of developments they just hired someone to manage the game's schedule and scope. we can assume that everything so far has been a shit show right
I think it's also interesting to see someone from nu-DOOM work on this game, as nu-DOOM already felt like it had a hint of Prime-inspired design in it.
how the fuck are these niggas still functioning when they've made nothing for 6 years and are missing core team members?! Nintendo couldn't keep the Mario and Luigi RPG studio opens but these niggas are dropped tons of money for no reason?
Not neccessarily. It's possible Retro Studios has worked on making the engine first, before now laying out the actual content they wanna provide. They may have gotten the programming stuff done before the arts stuff. After all, seeing how their last game, Tropical Freeze, is many, many years old now, they might now have had an engine capable of preseting what they wanted to deliever.
yeah, it was.. sony dropped that game way too soon.
Cool, can't wait to see Samus rip space pirates apart with her bear hands.
Looking pretty good so far, hopefully it will be ready for release by 2022, maybe with a trailer next year's E3.
They’ve been hiring some pretty interesting people. Hope we can see what they’ve been working on sometime in the next two years.
do you think well get to see ZSS Or will puritans cuck them?
why do they announce games that haven't even started development yet
I fucking hate this shit
I much prefer the shit they've done recently where they announce shit only a month in advance at most
There’s multiple directors so nah
I hope they finally give her some other outfit thats not the zero suit for gods sake
Prime 4 was in development by... “somebody”... when they announced it. People think it was a Bamco team. Whoever was working on it made something so irredeemably shit that Nintendo dropped development with them, scrapped everything they did, and gave the game back to Retro Studios. It must have been bad because I think that’s the first time I’ve ever seen Nintendo directly and publicly reveal a development issue like that.
A maid dress would work well.
what would you want to see in the game?
it would be cool samus was faster and more agile, adding something like wall running would and a faster grappling hook (more like a hookshot from zelda) to make more interesting platforms sections. It would also be cool if you could use the grappling hook in enemies to break their armor or something
It would probably be out by now if Bandai Namco didn't fuck everything up. I'd rather have the game take longer to be released than to have another Other M tier abortion.
The question is what role did he have? Not all roles are equal.
Nintendo usually doesn't do that shit, but they thought Metroid fans waited so long, they deserved to know that Metroid will eventually return. I think Nintendo even apologized for announcing it so far ahead. To be fair, they at least had another Metroid game dropped only a couple months later.
Janitor in the studio building
So basically they haven't even fucking started yet. MP4 was announced THREE FUCKING YEARS AGO.
He was the director.
imdb.com
I could see a semi-open world game where there is an overworld, but it leads to sub-areas about the size of a MP3 planet instead of BOTW shrines work out just fine
especially if it's an alien planet you're exploring so the sense of isolation is not lost by the open world, but rather enhanced by it
Based and maidpilled
And it was re-announced not only two years ago, so keep that in mind.
5 years after the game was announced they finally hired a director
Maybe because Retro is their only american studio?
I don't think it's worth it.
They made prime
Nintendo expects big now.
>bear hands.
they're called paws
