There is literally no good reason for her to be ugly. People don't wanna look at ugly characters. Unless they're a monster or some strange design, people want at least an average looking person to stare at. Purposefully making your characters uglier is only done for political reasons because no one would go out of their way to design an ugly person for no reason.
