I have a plan Arthur

I just can't remember what we all had

Probably the best game I didn't enjoy.

can I just get immersed in being a dude in the old west and ignore all the story bullshit

yes but no

There's a lot of shit to do besides story, so yes.

please clarify

The story is quite good, despite missions being mainly railroaded.
Also a lot of missions are straight up banter kino

>you can run into people on the Van Horn pier and they'll fall in the water

>random event in van horn
>drunk guy asking for direction
>it's over there, showing him the pier
>drunk fuck fall in the water and drown

You HAVE watched the Saint Denis' shows, right user?

Not entirely since you can't find random missions in the wilderness unless you run around doing the main story, you're locked out of the bottom half of the map as Arthur, and you're eventually going to run out of things to do unless you just want to gun people down and hogtie them for hours on end.

>still no Undead Nightmare 2

>he doesn’t rob trains and stores

We need higher file size limits. I can't post my 5k screenshots in pure PNG glory.

>No Undead Nightmare 2
>No RDR1 remake in the RDR2 engine with some of the annoyances RDR2 introduced cut out and a brand new epilogue where Jack goes into the RDR2 map.

They're too much effort for too little payout. Stores are roughly only $20 and trains heavily depend on what you do but as soon as you rob it starts up a bounty on you. I'd rather run around stealing wagons for $40-50 a pop with only a hit to karma I can "Hello" my way out of.

Yes.
For the most part I ignored the story missions except when I wanted to take a break from hunting, fishing, and exploring.
Get to the second or third camp first though so you can get mostly everything unlocked (the fence, horse trader, donations) and feel free to just fuck off from the story.

Will this game ever age graphically?
2 years later and I’m still amazed at how good it looks (even on consoles)

damn, how did rockstar manage to make those low quality 1k megascans assets looks so bad? That's a major fuck up here.
did the talented people leave r*?

Second camp is the best time to stop as everyone is still there (Though you're stuck with Micah) and you unlock horse fencing which allows you to complete every challenge as Arthur. You can also stop in chapter 2 before you rescue Micah but you can't do Bandit 4 or 5 and Sharpshooter 6 (Because John allows you to buy a long-scoped rifle only at the end of chapter 2).

you seem like a faggot. hope you kys soon

honor system was dumb

>They're too much effort for too little payout.
people play for fun. not to be minmax retards with money

It's the new Crysis 1. It's going to be the standard for CPU and GPU going forward for at least another 5 years. I won't consider it fully tackled until I can comfortably lock 144 fps at 5k Ultra with full resolution screen space and 5/5 water physics quality.
>tfw even at 1440p screenshots are too dense with details for Zig Forums file limit

Attached: RDR2_2020_08_26_05_00_49_770.jpg (2560x1440, 1.16M)

Which is fine, I just feel like it's a lot of effort to rob those things and then you get a pretty chunky bounty for trains at least.

>Though you're stuck with Micah
oh no! thats so suck XD Micah most def would not be like us redditbros no way. Micah is such a gay XD

What?

This needs a series x patch. Who am i kidding. Rockstar re-release the series x version for $70 lmao

robbing shit is fun. escaping is fun, only a annoying faggot would care about bounties on your head and for sure only a retard would want to minmax rdr2

wow, those 1k megascans textures looks like dog shit

if you want to masturbate to a superior quality, just import the same textures in UE4, it would look much better and it's free

Yesterday I managed to rob a general store without getting any witnesses
I was just able to escape from the back, walking like nothing happened
Very satisfying, even if the reward isn't jawdropping

The optimal point to stop the story is when you're told to go bust micah out of jail.
You still have the rest of the gang at camp, everyone is still happy and having jam sessions at the camp fire, and shit hasn't hit the fan yet.

the multiplayer got a bad rep at the start but it ends up being that.
You do a bit of a forced introduction (where you do have to complete a full mission with other people) and after that you are free to do various activities and jobs. You can then follow certain roles like bounty hunter or collector. None of them are too deep, collector for example you can buy maps and you go to the marked spot and try to find whatever the item is, it glow yellow and the controller vibrates when you get close, its not like the maps in single player where you have to actually follow drawings. But its still fun enough.

>this 512*512 megascans ground texture
Y I K E S

The way Arthur keep the long gun in his hand while using a revolver is some of the coolest shit I've seen in a game.

OBSESSED

I wish that were doable more often. It's so frustrating how some things you do will guaranteed trigger a wanted investigation even if no one else was around to alert the law. Like for instance if you rob the doctor's office in Valentine and use silent weapons + dead eye to quietly kill everyone in the back before a single gunshot can pop off. You'll instantly get a wanted the second you touch any of those guys back there.

forgot to say that it ends up being much more action oriented and free if you want to. Most missions are just about completing basic tasks with plenty of enemies to kill so you dont get railroaded like in the singleplayer.

How? I've always had the assholes peek in through the window or come immediately through the door and instantly start running away to call the cops while I'm still looting the place. The only time I ever had one go smoothly is robbing Rhodes' gun shop and that was because the guy had kidnapped a kid in his basement to be his surrogate son. Every time I try it at Strawberry or Valentine someone's always catching me.

It's fun but I prefer exploring and hunting animals personally. Hogtying people then riding away with their wagons is also much more fun to me than trains and shops.

>1k rock
>0.5k ground

yikes

here, enjoy some 8k bro, this shit looks uglier than 2007 crysis quixel.com/megascans/home?category=surface&category=ground

This is mostly based on luck I think
Sometimes it just works, and sometimes you'll get caught regardless

imagine simping for a shovelware with shitty outdated ""gameplay"" based around low quality 1k textures made by some swedish autist teenager

lmao, pic related is the reason this shit game look half decent

Attached: maxresdefault.jpg (1280x720, 116.35K)

The same happens in the Saint Denis poker game robbery. You can knock out the owner, hogtie the guard without him firing a shot, knock him out, then hogtie the guy with the revolver in the poker room without him ever firing a shot and the cops still somehow get called in after ten seconds of being upstairs.
Was frustrated when that happened since everything went off silently and without a hitch and I still had to bolt across the rooftops.

lmao cope

It was Rhodes' general store, during the afternoon.
I can tell you i'm not bullshitting, I guess there wasn't a lot of npcs at that time of the day

>Rockstar the billion dollar company has to rely on the personnal scans of an independant swedish teenager

why don't you simp for Teddy instead, cucklord?

>Hogtying people then riding away with their wagons is also much more fun to me than trains and shops.
You can get wagon heist jobs from the guy at the train station in rhodes or the guy in strawberry who runs the telegraph office.

Yeah it's scripted. At least I'll say this, the regular free roam stuff isn't. You can murder to your heart's content and never get a wanted level if you are stealthy about it. Unlike GTA 5 where the second you kill 2 people, you instantly get a wanted level even if no one was around. It's hard coded to trigger on the 2nd kill. Meanwhile in RDR2 I've had a pile of corpses pulled off the road in the swampy brush outside of Saint Denis and no bounty/wanted level
Why are you so obsessed?

Attached: RDR2_2020_08_09_00_39_03_960.jpg (2560x1440, 1.18M)

it's just weird to see someone suck the dick of 1k textures when he can suck 8k cocks.
see, 8k mud here, why post the cringy 1k scan? quixel.com/megascans/home?search=mud
