I published a demo to lukewarm responses. Currently fixing bugs and other issues as reported by players.
Just did Hello World in Unity today, and officially began my journey. I'm gonna make it, Zig Forums.
what's your dream project user?
Implementing an updated version of a 2D light/shadow system. Most of the game is already done. It is a shitty mobile game to get back into game dev though.
I'm drafting the story and branching paths for an RPG Maker game right now. What I plan to do is have it basically function as a VN outside of combat. The only problem is that I need to draw character busts, and I'm not a good artist. Also, I'm afraid it'll look like Yandev's code if I stack a 30+ hour game onto one event.

Visually, not much has happened (same screenshot as last time).
I've been working on the conversations, and figuring out levels and narrative.
It FEELS good to play though.
I wrote out a story for an RPG in college, and I've wanted to bring it to life for years. The story itself isn't that amazing, but I want to create a world that feels alive and a party of characters that don't feel 2D. I also want to make Hgames along the way

I started learning Quake's mapping program and it's really fun. I don't think I'll ever make a bona fide game since Quake already has the aesthetic I want.

Where do I even start? I guess with programming, since I can just use placeholder assets until I find an artist/modeller, but holy fuck is it a daunting task.
