the amount of playable characters hurts it a lot and even if they were to add more it'll be in the form of dlcs

Took what should have been a fun big budget version of Ultimate Alliance, and tried to shove a square peg into a round hole by making into some live service shit. The whole leveling up thing doesn't make sense, because they're established superheroes by the beginning of the game.

I'm genuinely disgusted that the Game and Watch is selling that well. 3D All Stars I get, but how many fucking copies of the original SMB do you really need?

At this point people should probably accept that any more XML or MUA titles will probably be nintendo exclusive considering how well MUA 3 turned out

There's a lot on what went wrong, from people being mad at a $60 game having cosmetic microtransaction store to shitty optimization on all platforms. But I think the main thing is that the game can't decide what it wants to be. They should of either went all in on it being a narrative single player experience, or all in on it being a warframe/destiny grinder kind of game. Because right now it feels like a short but good campaign littered with GaaS stuff everywhere and then into a postgame multiplayer grinder that's extremely barebones compared to it's competition which leads to anyone actually liking the game to see recommend that others wait for actual content.
